Be sure you wish to spend your vacation time with a lot of tipsy or drunken and a much older and disabled group of passengers. Their COVID protocols leave much to be desired. They need someone who knows what they are doing. Testing is not sufficient as the only safeguard. The food is above average and some of the dining spaces are very nice and comfortable. Some very great service, but a lot of language issues leading to poor service in general.

Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Better than average food and preparation. Unlimited drinks and wine had half the passengers drunk or tipsy most of the day and night.
Onboard Activities

Entertainment
4 out of 5
Very good talent, but the productions were from Branson, Missouri(or seemed like it) and the sound engineering was terrible, pre-programmed and unchangeable even when terrible
Children's Programs
no kids
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Certain exceptional staff and service, but most staff had poor english language skills. Result was mixed up orders, deer in headlight looks, and needing to repeat the same question several different ways in order to be understood.

Although our cabin's balcony was flooded 3 times by window washing, the restaurant above was noisy at all hours of the night and early morning by cleaning and other activities.

Ship tip
Be prepared for a very elderly/disabled clientelle mixed with big drinkers
Sloppy attention to local COVID rules by ships management told everyone not on a ships tour they must remain on board. But after the other 3 ships docked next to the Explorer had foot traffic to and from the ship, the Explorer's management, after passenger intervention, allowed guests off the ship
Late, slow and most needed an elevator to disemebark and there was a very long line waiting at terminal J for elevators. No escalator for able bodied only stairs or elevator.
I have learned that luxury lines are far too expensive for young people and families. The passengers they attract are retirees and the wealthy. Plus, with COVID, one must prepare for the experience to change.
A little research would have shown this may have been more of a line or ship geared for older people. And some lines have said you must book excursion through them.
