Review summary

Overall, a great vacation. Itineraries were great & we're from North Dakota so the warm weather was a big reason for being on the he cruise in February.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Great, we were back to back so embarcation was easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
MDR was okay. Food choices are repetitive on the 10 night cruise. Jammer also lacked variety. Seemed to serve most of the same meals every day. They were a little unorganized at busy times. Tables weren't cleared quickly. They ran out of silverware & cups for coffee. Also couldn't keep up with making coffee. The soft serve machines were frequently out of mix.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Solarium was very busy. Most times couldn't find a chair. Hot tubs were usually full. The main pool was easier to get into, but more kids to be around. Hot tubs were more available if you got there early.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We enjoyed the entertainment. Gaucho was a very good act. The comedians were good. Production performance was enjoyable.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Our first night must have been their first night in MDR. Very slow and poor service. The Head Waiter had to take over our table and one other to help the waiter catch up. The rest of the week went better. This was the first week that room stewards only clean your room once a day. We scheduled ours for 5:20pm while we were at dinner. That seemed to work out just fine. Francisco at the Diamond Lounge was very welcoming. Although that venue was often full and we weren't able to use it.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
The layout of the ship was fine, although elevators were frequently difficult to come by. The ship lacked cleanliness.Mens bathroom in solarium was filthy & smelly. You rarely saw crew cleaning common areas like railings & such. In the Buffet they don't use cleaning solution when wiping tables. They use dry disposable towels and tables are sticky & dirty much of the time.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Pretty generic balcony cabin. Plenty of closet & drawer space. Bed very uncomfortable. Bathroom was small. Again cleanliness wasn't a priority here. Mirrors spotty, desk surface dirty. Balcony was never cleaned on the 10 day trip. Sliding door to balcony was finger printed & dirty.

Ship tip

Choose a Jr. Suite if you can afford it.

Ports of call

Tampa, Florida

4 out of 5
Easy to get to, close to airport & hotels. We did not do an excursion there.

George Town, Grand Cayman

You need to tender in to this port. We didn't do an excursion here. Just walked around the port and a little bit of downtown.

Cartagena, Colombia

3 out of 5
It was a decent port. We did the Hop on Hop off bus excursion.

Colon, Panama

5 out of 5
Old run down city. The excursion we took was the highlight of our trip. We did the 8 hour Panama Canal tour through about 3 locks and out to the Pacific Ocean. Bus took us from Panama City back to Colon and back to the ship. Long day, but worth it.

Puerto Limon, Costa Rica

5 out of 5
Not a safe place where ship docks. You need to get on your excursion ride there and don't go off on your own. Did the Tortuga Canal tour and really enjoyed it. We had a great tour guide, I think his name was Evan. He gave us a lot of detail information about his country.

Cozumel, Mexico

1 out of 5
Lots of shops & eateries at the port. We didn't do any excursions. We shopped & are there. Very good margaritas & guacamole dip at Tequila a Go Go.

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
Getting off the ship was fairly orderly. Once we got to the terminal there was quite a bottleneck. Customs only had 4 out of 8 stations open and things went very slow.
