We were with a line dance group. Royal Caribbean was a great host for this event. They made our event a success. I highly recommend traveling with friends and groups of people you know. You can spend as much or a little time with the group as you want
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was quick and easy. Key program not necessary as boarding was very efficient.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Food was good, although we ate dinner every night in dining room; found the selection and quality was very good in the buffet. Not always a desert person, I found myself in that area often.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
There was always something to do. We really enjoy just exploring and wandering the ship. Not much of a gambler, but would have been fun to visit Casino. Smoke was an issue for us so we tried to avoid this area.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Enjoyed the three shows we saw. Thought the nightly entertainment in the Centrum could have been better.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Had regular contact with at least two individuals. Ours Assistant waiter was a stand out for us. This was his first contract and was about to go home in two weeks. He told us it was rough at first, but has adjusted and now expects to miss it. Plans on returning for another contract.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Cleaning and maintenance was always present. Serenade has been around since 2003. I found the ship to be a little disjointed. Having been on Oasis class down I really enjoy the Voyager class ships.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Stateroom was very adequate. Found a place for everything and out of sight. Shower was enjoyable after a long day of exploring. Steward was a delight. Found bed was very hard for my wife. Steward brought in a cover which solved the problem.
Ship tip
Really enjoy deck 5. You are able to stroll the exterior of the ship in its entirety. Great views and always less crowded than pool decks.
Did the Bucket List tour. Although it was interesting, found it to be long, and in some spots very rushed. On the day we were there quite a number of busses doing tours.
Lighthouse excursion cancelled. Tendered into Bar Harbor. Quaint old school town. Reminded me of our Alaskan cruise. Enjoyed walking this port the most of all the ports we stopped at.
