Review summary

first trip on Royal Carribean - will try it again but not on this ship - hoping the next one will be a good cruise but now know not to book any thing through the ship - cheaper to find one off the ship

Embarkation

3 out of 5
It was very long and hot standing in the line. This was our first cruise on Royal Carribean so we were in the longest line and after 40 minuts in line - some family came in and went right through since they were platium level. we still had about 35 minutes left before we finally got through. I understand the priviledge you get for taking several cruises but this was just the beginnning of confusion for this trip

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Buffets were cobfusing to find food and you walked all over trying to see what was available.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
not enough things to do on the ship on th 2 cruise days and the first and last night only one show so many people had to miss it - not organized well

Entertainment

4 out of 5
There were 2 great singers and the other two were just ok but the shows were ok and something to do

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff was awesome and very helpful in many ways and all spoke English which was a big help.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
We never saw anyone cleaning the stairs or hallways but th rooms were great as was the restrooms..

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
we did not expect this cabin and it was great - large and enough room not to climb over each other.

Ship tip

Be prepared if you have never been on the ship to be lost most of the week and trying to find things and also find your way through the buffets

Ports of call

Portland, Maine

5 out of 5
MMet a friend in Portland and she gave us a grat tour and had lunch with her.

Bar Harbor, Maine

5 out of 5
We did the Oli's Trolley tour but not through the ship and it was great and so much cheaper than the ships tours.

Saint John, New Brunswick

wnet on a ships tour and spent a lot of timr just riding and not seeing anything. Very boring and had a lunch included which was a cup of clam chowder or 2 chicken fingers - ladies room had onl 2 stalls therefore you spent time eating for standing in line for the rest room. More time on the bus riding than spending at the stops on the trip. Our tour guide was very knowledgable but just too long on the bus

Halifax, Nova Scotia

4 out of 5
again we took a ships tour that was way too expensive and the tour was nice but a lot of time on the bus and lunch was not included so we had to fit that in our time at the stop.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
this was not as bad as getting on but they have you go to the theatre at one end of the ship then have to walk to the other end to get off. When you have someone ho has trouble walking - not a good system

There are benefits to booking shore excursions through the ship. They guarantee safe return to the ship and the ship will wait on you if the tour is late. You can also get your money back if they cancel it.
