A Mediocre cruise experience

Sail Date: November 21, 2010

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Balcony

The ship is nice enough and well maintained. The staff are all pleasant and made our trip very pleasant. The entertainment wasn't the best. We always go out of our way to make all the shows and we were disappointed many nights. It wasn't bad, just not great. The food was also mediocre. The food was boring and not well seasoned, particularly the fish. Thanksgiving dinner was beyond uninspiring and really made me wish we had stayed home. This is our 3rd Thanksgiving cruise and we never said that before! I would not take this cruise again.

Pros: Service was very good

Cons: The entertainment

Recommends Serenade of the Seas? No.

Love the people!!
Don't Miss: The zip line adventure in the rain forest. Great staff and real safety minded! Great value. It was the cheapest of all the zip lining offered in all the Islands.
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
Take water taxi to beach--$6 round trip. Great deal on beach rentals--6 cushioned chairs/3 umbrellas and 6 beers--$25 dollars!
Bridgetown, Barbados
Bajans are not friendly to tourists. This is my third experience with them and heard the same from all other cruisers. They do not like cruisers! Brighton Beach -a recommended beach is next to a rum factory--$6 to get you there & $10 to let you in---stay away--there are much better beaches! Do your homework before you got there. It makes it easier to negotiate.
St. John's, Antigua
Went to Darkwood beach. A beautiful quiet beach.
Frederiksted, St. Croix, U.S.V.I.
Nice beach.
