Excellent Cruise for my family

Sail Date: December 20, 2008

Reviewed: 8 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Balcony

Overall an excellent cruise. They did a wonderful job for the holidays celebrating both Christmas and Hanukah. They made everything very festive. The ports of call were good and we enjoyed our relaxing cruise vacation!

Pros: Very nice ship, excellent ports of call, friendly crew

Cons: Disembarkement was a little long

Recommends Serenade of the Seas? Yes!

Food and Dining
Good but not great in the dining room. Lots of choices on the menu. Windjammer breakfasts were excellent and very enjoyable.
Entertainment
Shows were okay but not great. We liked the trivia contests and also the game shows.
Ship Quality
Good size ship - not too big. The ship was clean, especially the bathrooms and public areas. Very nice decorations and art work
Cabin / Stateroom
Great balcony room with lots of space. Bathrooms were nice. We wish there were lotions, but there was amble space in the cabin and bathroom. The kids had an interior room and that also had lots of space and also shelving.
Service and Staff
Very friendly waiters and bar staff. Very nice room porters.
St. John's, Antigua
Went on a eco excursion and it was GREAT!! Rode on a catamaran and then snorkeled and hiked around the island.
Don't Miss: Shopping at the port is nice but you need to do an excursion to see the beauty of the island
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
We rented a jeep and went to Sapphire Beach and up to Paradise Point in the jeep. Very nice !! The shopping closes early on Sunday which is a disadvantage
Don't Miss: Sapphire Beach !! -- good snorkeling
Castries, St. Lucia
Took the COSOL tour of the island and it was great.
Don't Miss: COSOL excursion tour
Bridgetown, Barbados
Visited on Christmas day so most everything was closed. Went to Carlisle Bay and the Lobster's Alive Beach
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
We stayed in town and went to Great Bay beach and then went shopping. The water taxi is very convenient
Don't Miss: Guaveberry Liquer and shopping downtown
