Review summary

On this cruise, we saw glow worm caves, Hobbiton Village and the Shire, bubbling hot springs and mud baths, and many Maori sites. We saw wildlife, the Blue Mountains, went whale watching and saw whales and hundreds of dolphins. We zip-lined, Jet-boated, and 4 wheel off roaded on a sheep station. It was the best trip we have ever taken.

Embarkation

Very smooth, welcoming and professional, from a beautiful cruise terminal

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate in all of the restaurants during our voyage, though the poolside restaurants were a bit cool because of the weather. The Chef and Staff provided us with a small group tour of the galley, taught a cooking class, and prepared special items for the Champagne and Caviar events on board. It was perfect!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Weather was a little rough to have many outdoor activities onboard. But - shore activities were first rate!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The Cruise Director, Robert, was remarkably talented and younger than we have previously had aboard Seabourn - as such the entire entertainment experience was fresher. Best Ever!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Seabourn staff never disappoint!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Even though this was an older ship than we sailed on previously, it must have been recently refreshed - it was immaculate!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Again, the room seemed brand new, and each of the amenities, like the walk in closet, place for baggage, safe, extra storage and vanity were just right!

Ship tip

Make sure to make shore excursion reservations in advance. Smaller ports only have so much capacity. We did so, and as a result had a fabulous cruise!

Ship was moored at the heart of downtown Auckland with many attractions in walking distance. Terrific museums and tours of the city are available. Wonderful!

Fabulous port - so much to do! We were here two nights, and disembarked for another 3 nights in town. One our favorite stops on the cruise!
