Review summary

Overall I had a really good time. I loved the hammock. I can't think of one word to describe it all. Food was great, as advertised. Shows were fun. The ship and Beach Club were beautiful. The bars need more bartenders to cut down wait times for drinks (ship and beach club), by far the worst part of the trip. I was worried about the "Bar Tab" and not having a drink package but, in the end it worked out just as well and might have even saved a little money over having a package on other cruise lines. The pool is 2/3 sun deck making the pool water extremally hot in July (think hot tub). By the third day it started looking murky. I will definitely look into another trip with Virgin Voyages.

Embarkation

Easy. No need to get there early because it probably will not help.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate at Test Kitchen, Extra Virgin, Pink Agave and Gunbae. All dinners were wonderful and Gunbae was FUN. The Galley (Not a buffet) was good but there are a few kinks. Some Sailors grabbed orders from the shelf themselves instead of placing an order with a waiter, causing the person who made that order not get their food. Book your dining as soon as allowed, prior to sail date. I was able to book 45 days before boarding.

Noodle Around

5 out of 5

Loved the ramen and it was delivered fairly quick.

Lick Me Till...Ice Cream

4 out of 5

A few different options, Better than soft serve.

The Wake

4 out of 5

Brunch was good.

The Test Kitchen

5 out of 5

Some food choices were "interesting" all were very tasty.

The Pizza Place

4 out of 5

Tasty pizza. Could benefit from having a supply of most commonly ordered pizzas (peperoni/cheese) ready for grab and go.

The Manor

5 out of 5

Cool venue although a little small. View from upstairs was good if you have a seat at the rail.

The Galley

4 out of 5

Food was good but I wish you could grab food yourself at all locations within.

Pink Agave

5 out of 5

Delicious.

On the Rocks

5 out of 5

My favorite bar. (probably the fastest too)

Gunbae

5 out of 5

Almost did not do this due to fears over shellfish allergy. We checked last minute and they said they would message us if they became available. They did and we went. Everything was delicious and they accommodated for the allergy and there were no issues. Waiter was awesome and we had a lot of fun.

Extra Virgin

5 out of 5

Delicious. Two meals with nothing repeated, all very good.

Burger Bar

3 out of 5

Burger was good but the order took a long time (I think another Sailor just took it from the waiter's shelf)

Bento Baby

4 out of 5

It was nice to be able to just grab a box and go. Sushi (lunch) and fruit (breakfast) both were really good.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Plenty of happenings.

The Casino

5 out of 5

Smaller side but no smoke.

Sailor Services

5 out of 5

Had a minor issue with the band that was resolved quickly.

Redemption Spa

4 out of 5

First spa visit. I expected it to be crowded but it was not.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Entertainment is not what I would call "conventional" but was all enjoyable. We saw Duel Reality, the Diva, A woman named Carlos, The Lee Boys Ft. DIRTY BYRD, Matt Walden and others. Enjoyed it all.

Children's Programs

No kids!

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Bar service was SLOW and appeared to be very under staffed. They were all nice and most were apologetic about the long waits. Only complaint about a staff member was the waitress that disappeared after I asked for an update on a food order.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Beautiful ship and very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Average size and always clean. The bed was comfortable, although a little low, probably due to the couch feature.

Ship tip

Book your shows early as venues are "intimate" (smaller). If the show/event does not need reservations, get there early. Keep an open mind.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

3 out of 5
It's home(ish). Meh

Key West, Florida

4 out of 5
Irish Kevin's!

The Beach Club (Virgin Voyages), Bimini Bahamas

4 out of 5
Beautiful! Just like the ship, the bars are slow and needed more bartenders. I am not a fan of trams but the wait was not too bad.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easy Peasy!
