Review summary

Overall I would highly recommend Virgin Voyages! It is a cruise line that strives to make everyone feel comfortable being themself!! The crew is fun, attentive and friendly. Food is delicious. Tattoo artists are great. Loved getting a tattoo with Hayley. Casino could use a little bit more room near the tables but all the dealers were so fun. No one was stupid drunk or rude. It was just a laid back, super fun, delicious cruise. Music was great, entertainment was great!

Embarkation

We had Splash of Romance so we boarded directly after Rockstars. Priority boarding alone was worth SOR in my opinion. They had an employee at a podium at the door to get your SOR wristband before getting in line to board. We arrived at the port at 1:25 and were on the ship and in our rooms by about 1:55. We tipped the porters taking our bags as they are not employees of Virgin Voyages. Everything was just super smooth.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
I love that all the food is included. Pink Agave and The Wake were our favorite specialty dining. We liked Razzle Dazzle and Extra Virgin as well. We had pizza from the Pizza Place daily. It was delicious as well. Pretty fly for a whit pie was so good. I have to say my favorite food on the ship is the grab and go Beet Hummus served at the Dock! We also really enjoyed the chicken and shrimp dishes off the Dock menu. We ate there several times. We actually only ate at the Galley for late late night food and once for lunch. It was good but there were just so many other options that we couldn’t try everything. The food is always my favorite part of cruising and Scarlet Lady did not disappoint

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I give this only a 4 star because of personal preference. There definitely seems that there is always something going on but most activities do seem to involve alcohol in some way. I am a non drinker so I only did a few of the pop up activities that did not involve alcohol. The pools were wayyyy too small to be enjoyable as they were always full and by day 2 the water became quite murky and cloudy. The casino was a bit cramped at night especially the Roulette tables. We still enjoyed it though. Won big first night! The gym was amazing but I was having too much fun to use the gym as much as I have liked

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We saw the Untitled dance show and Duel Reality. We loved Duel Reality! What a great show. It kept us on the edge of our seat. What talent! The dance show was super fun and interactive. A different concept than you see on most ships. Loved it. I have seen a lot of reviews complaining about the music on the ship. I don’t understand that because it my opinion they played the appropriate music for the different locations of the ship. The musicians around the ship were wonderful. We enjoyed the brother and sister duet, I can’t remember their names but they were really good.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The staff was super friendly and as attentive as I think their time would allow them. I do think they were a little short staffed on certain areas of the ship which made things (usually drinks) take a bit longer than they should have. This wasn’t everywhere just in the area a bit busier than others. The quality of the staff definitely made up for that tho. A bit of patience goes a long way. Room steward, Shandy, was great. They would arrive in minutes when we put a request in (usually more water). Hadi, our server, at the Wake was top notch!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship is still quite new and very clean. We saw staff cleaning common areas all the time. Our room steward was so attentive when needed and let us be when we didn’t want to be bothered. We would request water through the tablet and he was at our door in minutes with fresh water.

Ship tip

Make brunch/dinner reservations 45 days before cruise. Also book any shows or fitness classes you want to see as soon as you get on the ships wifi.

Ports of call

The Beach Club (Virgin Voyages), Bimini Bahamas

5 out of 5
The beach at the beach club was perfect! The shady spots are full by about 11 am though so if you want a nice spot I would recommend getting off the ship early morning.

Disembarkation

We had breakfast at 8 am. We went back to room at 8:30, took our bags and disembarked at about 8:45. We were at our vehicle by 9 am. We scheduled a 9:30 am disembark time but decided to leave a bit earlier and had no issues at all. Easiest embark and disembark we have done.
