As an Elite passenger I was disappointed with this cruise, we sailed on Sapphire last year and noticed a real change. Staff seemed sad and disenfranchised and rushed off their feet. The boat seemed tired and worn and instead of feeling a valued customer I felt like a money pot to be plundered. Sadly I feel this is my last Princess cruise.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
As always embarkation was slick and problem free, within 30 minutes of arriving at the port we were onboard.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The food was good, we had a disappointing evening in Sabatini's where my plate resembled a WW1 battlefield reconstruction after it was taken away to remove the lobster from it's shell.
One evening in the main dining room (anytime dining) I had to call our waitress over so we could place our order for both wine and our food, after waiting almost 20 minutes, dreadful service but more about lack of staff than staff attitude.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Lots on offer and many activities really made people mix and join in.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The group Atomic were OKish, but had obviously been put together for the cruise because thier voices did not harmonise very well.
We had two comedians on and both used many of the same jokes, put me in mind of Phoenix Nights.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Our cabin steward was faultless, we called him the cabin ninja he was so good, which is why my score is as high as it is. Some of the other staff, while not bad just didn't seem very happy, again i think it was because there were so few of them.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Despite a refit on the last couple of years it was looking tired. We had a stain on our cabin carpet that should have been replaced as it was impossible to clean.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Always clean but looked tired
Ship tip
Don't bother paying extra for Sabatinis the food, service and ambiance are no different from the main dining room.
