Review summary

Definitlely consider Princess Cruises again in future. Norway is the first holiday destination we've been to that we've come back and said "we'd love to go there again".

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Queued a little longer than I'd like, but nothing unexpected or unreasonable

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Buffet good, but a bit like a cafeteria when busy. Dining Rooms and Speciality restaurants very good, but menus a bit limited / specific (but I have picky tastes!)

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pools not as busy as I expected, able to find quiet-ish times without too much trouble. Only had stretch and tone classes or dance classes on sea days (2 days in 7)

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Onboard musicians and bands all very good. Sometimes the timings could be better (so that there were more options to find music - there are 3 bars and 6 or 7 bands / musicians so it was surprising to find some evenings with no music on until 9pm or even 10pm)

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Mostly very good, helpful, cheerful and entertaining. One or two were a little grumpy (and I am ashamed to say the worse one was the English lady!)

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Clean and functional, but the ship is looking a little 'tired' and 'old' in places.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Lovely size, plenty of storage space. Balcony good size with 2 chairs / loungers and a table. There isn't anywhere for 2 to sit inside and eat (other than on the bed, or 1 sat at the writing desk). Air con didn't seem particularly effective, but with balcony doors this isn't a major problem (apart from the foggy mornings when the ships fog horn means you need to close the door!)

Ports of call

Southampton (London), England

4 out of 5
Get on and get off - not really a place to visit. Luggage collection was quick and painless when getting off.

Stavanger, Norway

4 out of 5
Typical tourist town - few nice market stalls

Olden, Norway

5 out of 5
Lovely little town - went to Loren (next village) to go up SkyLift - costs a lot but well worth it for the view.

Geiranger, Norway

5 out of 5
Little tourist village - RIB boat trips from here are excellent way to see the Fjords up close.

Bergen, Norway

4 out of 5
Nice town. Funicular up to top of hill is a nice view (but queues can be quite long)

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Much better than other cruises we've been on.

Glad you enjoyed your cruise. I'm not surprised you want to go back to the fjords, they're so picturesque and peaceful.
