Alaska Cruise - Inside Passage

Sail Date: May 22, 2011

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Suite

Our suite was beautiful and our steward mark Giliang was wonderful, but all the extra costs (sodas, exercise classes, over priced excursions) after spending thousands for the cruise made it for an unpleasant experience. I just felt like every seminar was a scam to get you to spend more money. The food in the buffet was also disappointing, so we ate at the burger and pizza parlors. It was relaxing, but I wouldn't take another cruise with princess.

Pros: Being in Port

Cons: food, extra costs for exercise classes and soda and EXPENSIVE excursions

Recommends Sapphire Princess? No.

Children's Programs
Food and Dining
Food at the buffet is disappointing to say the least and unorganized. food was blan.
Entertainment
Ship Quality
The ship itself is very beautiful
Cabin / Stateroom
We had a suite, so it was wonderful.
Service and Staff
Most of the staff were pleasant, but a lot of them don't speak good english and rude.
Juneau, Alaska
More shops and more jewelry stores and owners who don't really want to negotiate a good price.
Ketchikan, Alaska
Cute town and nice if you want to buy jewelry, but most of the jewelry shops are associated with the ship and get commissions, so the prices aren't any better than you can get here.
Don't Miss: Glaciers and whale watching, but expensive
Victoria, British Columbia
by the time we got to Victoria 99% of the stores were closed and only there for a hours and an expensive ride to the town.
Skagway, Alaska
Less shops than the other ports.
