If you’re in your 30-40’s don’t sail more than 7 days. Anything past that is tailored for an older crowd.

Just sailed on sister ship in April same itinerary. If you need to be entertained all the time, try another line. Experienced cruisers do lots of research. We love Princess ships and yes, we have sailed on Ruby.

I started crusing with Princess when I was 24. I'm 42 now and have done 12 cruises with them, with two more coming up soon on this ship. I love Princess and especially the Ruby. But I absolutely understand that it's not for everyone. So, if any other younger folks are reading this review, just keep in mind that this is one person's experience, and Princess clearly didn't meet their expectations, which is fair. But do your research. I LOVE the vibe on board, the activities, and the food. I want to be able to relax near the pool, enjoy the sea views, read in comfortable areas with great service, and go on enriching (informational about local culture, environment, etc.) excursions. I do NOT want go-carts, waterslides, or big parties and purposely avoid lines that have those features. Plus, the older folks on Princess are a ton of fun, and many of them stay up later and party harder than I do. 😀

Too bad you spent your entire cruise looking for the negatives instead of enjoying the cruise like most people do. I've been on the Ruby 3 times and had an amazing time each time with great food and entertainment. You can't blame a cruise line for your failure to do research on what is a good match for you.

I gotta think you'd be hard pressed to find any cruise ship that could do a good job keeping passengers entertained for two sets of four sea days. That's one for just kicking back and relaxing. You know, like those old people like to do

Sorry you were disappointed BUT as an Activity Director who happens to be in her 30's, I find it hard to believe you couldn't find anything to do. Maybe none of it appealed to YOU, and that's fine, but your one opinion isn't reflective of everyone our age. Maybe try some of the activities you think are for the older age group, you might change your tune.
