This was a great cruise. Loved all the sea days. The ship and crew were great. Everything went as planned except for the LA late arrival.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
No problem with check in with Princess. The problem was that three ships were leaving Vancouver and US customs had clear over 6000 people. The process was not bad, but no one was telling what was going on until after the fact.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Share and Crown Grill was both excellent but very different. We like Crown Grill better because it was more of a venue to our liking but you need to try both.
We mainly had dinner in the Main dining room and the majority of the time it was excellent.
No complaints on the Horizon Court we mainly had breakfast and lunch there.
Crooners
5 out of 5
Great martinis excellent service went here practically every night before dinner.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
There was so much to do especially during the sea days. The Movies under the stars was great. During the day they played concerts which was entertaining while sitting out of the pool. The various speakers they had were also great. You really had work hard to be bored day or night. The cruise director and his staff was excellent. The crossing the equator party was fantastic.
The Sanctuary
5 out of 5
We only spent a half day here but it was absolutely great.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The entertainment was great, wish they had more production shows but we enjoyed everything we saw. The ship’s band the Sound was excellent really enjoyed their music. They also had a couple of really good comedians.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
We had no complaints with any of the staff. We maybe had one waiter in our 23 days that was not best, Other then that everyone else was great.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Ship had a great layout. Cabins were showing their age but was still nice. The public areas were in good shape. Even though there was some painting being done the ship could some painting. The rust marks on the outside makes it look old.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Cabin was dated but we loved the location. It had plenty of storage for a 23 day cruise. Very comfortable no surprises.
Ship tip
Explore and get to know your way around early in the trip, especially the top decks.
Was going to do Universal Studios but it was canceled since we got into port late due sea life speed restrictions. Went to Venice Beach and Monterey instead. Was ok but LA is a third world country.
We disembarked in New Zealand and it was very organized. Since we were staying in New Zealand a couple of days we were was in the last group, but called before the scheduled time. We also booked our post cruise hotel with Princess and it was excellent.
