Review summary

We are glad we finally got to enjoy a cruise. We look forward to our next Princess cruise this fall to Cabo.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Princess personnel greeted us warmly at every turn from the moment we exited our vehicle. We appreciated their friendly directions as this was our first cruise and we didn’t know what to expect. Our bags were delivered to our room before we got there, which was a nice surprise. We were on vacation right away—no worries!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We ate several lunches in Horizon Court, the buffet restaurant, and thought the main courses and salads were very good as long as weren’t eating late. As anytime diners, we ate our main meal in the Michaelangelou dining room. The menu provided a wide variety of choices, from familiar to unique. Temperatures of foods were good, salads were crisp, fish and meats were well prepared. Desserts were very attractive, but the the creme brûlée and pie fillings were too thick and gluey. Chocolate desserts, however, never disappoint!

Crown Grill

5 out of 5

We had our best dinner in the Crown Grill. The appetizers (especially the Lobster Cake) were delicious, and we are still talking about the incredible French Onion soup. My fillet was perfectly prepared, any my husband savored every bite of his huge rib steak covered with mushrooms & onions. I enjoyed the dessert sampler while my husband had a chocolate heart dessert. Our waiters were fabulous and made my day when they sang happy birthday to me. Definitely recommend the Crown Grill!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pools were fine, considering the weather. Hot tubs weren’t very hot. We enjoyed relaxing & reading in various locations, our main purpose of coming on the cruise. I was disappointed that activities I read about in Princess literature weren’t offered, including the book club and the night time star watch

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Every stage show was enjoyable. We especially enjoyed the vocalist who was a finalist on American Idol, Lou Gazarra.

Children's Programs

No kids! Every single staff member we saw

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Every single staff member we passed in the halls or who served us in any way greeted us with sincere smiles and friendly greetings. All went the extra mile to provide for us and did so with speed and a smile.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything was very well kept. It took us a while to learn our way around but we found the ship’s design to be very attractive.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
We were pleased with our room in every way. It was very clean and more spacious than anticipated. We appreciated the comfortable bed, large closet and plentiful sturdy wooden hangers. We appreciated having our room refreshed regularly.

Ship tip

First time cruisers might wish to study the layout of the ship before their trip. Ordering bottled water before the trip was smart, but I didn’t come close to getting my $$ worth from the soft drink package. Hang on to your wallet and avoid over spending on all the add-ons.
