Review summary

Our cruise had a lot of orientals onboard, and we found them to be not only pushy, but they took over hallways, and staircases taking pictures. It was hard to get up and down the main staircases as large groups would be taking 50 pictures of everyone and in different group settings. Was mentioned to front desk, ( where it was happening in front of them) but nothing was done. Also in the Botecelli dining room, a night did not go by where they weren't taking pictures in front and behind us. It's hard to enjoy your evening meal when your having a flash go off every few seconds and groups standing as they get a picture of each other with every member of their group.

Very quick, but staff giving you info need a refresher on giving you proper info.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

On our cruise, the buffet was mainly an oriental nature for lunch and dinner. This was our 9th cruise with Princess and what we would consider our worst cruise ever. Ship is looking tired, bars were not opened when stated, tho bar staff were mainly good. We ate at the crown and grill(surcharge worth it) was a great meal and staff very attentive. Dining room was at best par this cruise. Two nights I ordered steak, first night received a raw steak, sent back and received very rare, gave up as rest of table had already finished and would have to wait for me. Second night received what I called raw and had the head waiter take steak back to ask chef, in case I was ordering medium rare and wanted to know, if I should order differently. Chef said the steak was blue.

Service and Staff

Our room Stewart jeff, was great, server Fatima in crooners was one of the best. Photo staff, Albany was a pleasure to deal with and always knew where our pictures were.

Ship Quality

The Ruby is getting tired, and carpets are worn, overall it's still in good shape, and most princess ships are similar so it's easy to get around.

Cabin / Stateroom

We had been upgraded to a junior suite, and found it to have more room than we were used to. Also had a tub, never used but gave you lots of elbow room when taking shower.

Ship tip

Find out if there are large groups already going as they tend to take over the ship and buffet seems to cater to them. Used to enjoy eating there as always had a large selection for lunch and dinner.

We walked off due to having private shuttle to airport.
