Review summary

I found the ship to be hard to navigate. We were in a handicap room and assigned dining on the opposite end of the ship! I have sailed on the Royal Caribbean 3 times and found myself comparing the two.

The room was clean. Our dining waiter was slow but friendly unlike other staff on the ship who did their job but did not appear to be happy or friendly.  Would have liked a 6:00 dining hour instead of 5:30. Enjoyed the movies shown on the deck. Would have liked the hot tub to be in a more private space. Shows were not good except for The Voice. Need to improve the variety of shows. Excursions we chose were great! Variety of foods in the Horizon needed to be improved. Princess paled when compared to the Royal Caribbean. Probably would not choose this cruise line again.

I bought three jeweled lanyards for .99¢ each at the 99¢ Store. .. black, diamond and blue. They Had manly lanyards too. They are exactly like the ones sold at the gift shop for about $9.00 each.

Stansluv, in response to your lanyard question..sometimes they do and sometimes they provide them, mostly they don't. I always bring my own, but you will probably find them in one of the souvenir shops.

On our last Ruby cruise, this year, out of 3,000 + passengers, I think I saw 3 kids. And I hate to admit I was looking for them. Kids deserve to have fun too, that's what Disney cruises are for. Where I think you will find most of them. The adult area to us was anywhere on the outer decks. Saw no urchins there. These cruises are mostly for the " senior set" who can't handle anything more strenuous. I fit in well. But all are welcome, and I try to make them feel that way. We need to remember the cruise lines are doing this to make money. But they want their passengers to have a good time too. If they don't, they won't come back. If you are trying to save money, this may not be for you. Even a walk in the our woods now has a fee. If I bother anyone with the clunk, clunk of my cane as I make my way back to my stateroom, I'm sorry. I'll probably find my cabin steward waiting for me, with a smile.

I definitely would NOT recommend the Ruby Princess at all. They charge extra for everything, even a chair in the shade (AKA the Serenity Area). I go on vacation to get away from kids, and something as simple as having an adult area means everything to me! Also never saw or met our room steward. Food was plain. No lobster....unless you paid for specialty dining. Worst ship I have ever been on. I will stick to RC and Carnival...They know how to treat their customers!

I doubt if you heard them here. Most comments are positive.
