Review summary

The princess line of cruises is definitely targeting an older audience. I call it "summer camp for the second half of life". Not a ton for kids to do, but when kids are with a multi-generational group, together you can have fun no matter what.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
very fast. everyone we worked with was accommodating to the fact that we had a young child that needed to take a nap on board in the afternoon

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Buffets were redundant after a while. It was the same stations every day for the most part. We greatly enjoyed the service in the main dining room and in the crown grill.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Not a lot for kids to do. Older adults, lots of activities. Very catered towards the "eat, drink, and sit" crowd. Live ballroom dancing style entertainment was wonderful. Casino ventilation could be improved as the cigarette smoke really sat in the room.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
bingo and princess live were excellent. DJ was great. live bands in smaller venues were wonderful and personable

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
we didn't know that under 3 could still use the kids club with parental supervision until the cruise was almost over, so only went once. older kids liked the kids club a few days. there were so few children actually on board though.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff are excellent. Our room steward really made our trip. Bingo team was the best. Bar staff and servers excellent.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship's layout is rather confusing given the front, mid, and back staircases and elevators all end at different levels.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Nice size. I still prefer a double pullout couch to a drop down bunk.

Ship tip

on this cruise, you can definitely feel the rocking as you are going across the pacific. recommend being mid ship and low as it's a pretty strong feeling most of the trip.

Disembarkation

they were behind by about 40 minutes so took a bit of extra coordinating with the drivers

Glad that you had a goodtime! You are so right about the ship pitching it is best to pick a cabin mid ship for a better night sleep. Happy Cruising!
