Review summary

A very pleasant vacation but not much to do generally. Lots of activities but I often felt like I was at camp, with staff making do with what was available to create activities. No facilities to just go to other than some basic sports stuff-ping pong tables, fitness centre, etc.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth. Took awhile for our bags to appear but no problems

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was amazing. Delicious, lots of vsriety and great portion sizes (not ridiculously large) in the fining rooms.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pools are very small. Fitness centre is fine but yawn. Nothing that interesting.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Shows were not great. Cooking show was the highlight.

Children's Programs

No kids with us

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Great staff all aroond except the shopping concierge who was in my opinion an insult to every passenger with her constant sales pitch and worrhless Effy prizes.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship layout is very confusing. After a week I still had trouble at times.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Size and comfort was great. Cleanliness? On arrival we found a hairclip in one night table and a used tissue beside the bed.

Ship tip

This ship is all about lounges/bars, listening to mediocre music and dancing.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

4 out of 5
Nice place but was embarkation point, not a port of call.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

4 out of 5
Nice beach, good lunch. You’ll need to pay extra for a shelter. Nothing special. Bring towels from the ship.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

4 out of 5
Very nice. Went walking and visited the fort. Lots of cruise oriented shops.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
Went on the Outback Adventure excursion which was fantastic! Highly recommend it!

Grand Turk Island

4 out of 5
We went on an excursion that took us snorkeling and met some stingrays. Fun excursion but getting a photo of the stingray encounter required leaving the boat in a wet bathing suit at a different area than the cruise ship was. Then getting back to the cruise ship. Pain in the b*tt so we didn’t bother.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very smooth and organized getting off the ship and finding our bags. Customs was a long wait.

Let's hope they up their game with on board activities. We are looking forward to our first Princess cruise in 3 weeks.
