Exceptional, exceptional, exceptional. Can't say one bad thing about the Royal Princess, the staff, ports of call or anything for that matter. Not our first cruise but our first with Princess and lived every minute of it.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
All good. We had just sailed on the Carnival Conquest 3 wks prior to our Dec 30th sailing on the Royal Princess and expected the embarkation process to be expedited like the Carnival one was but it wasn't. Even so we had no issues whatsoever. Everything went great.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Everything was superb. Great food, great service from all the staff and the atmosphere was amazing. We enjoyed the food and the main dining room experience so much we felt guilty going to the Crown Grill. The Crown Grill experience was wonderful as well. We didn't eat at any other specialty restaurants.
Allegro Dining Room
5 out of 5
The dining room experience was amazing. Our wait staff Ivan and Burko at table 444 early sitting were absolutely wonderful. Great service and made great recommendations each night.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Hubby really liked the gym. We only went to the sanctuary once and that was okay. The movies under the stars was wonderful. Our girls enjoyed the pool.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
All but one of the comedians on board were exceptional. Not all the music on board was to our taste but we enjoyed it all anyway. We weren't really impressed with the Encore show the last night on board in the Princess Theatre but once again opera isn't our thing but performance was great if that is what you like.
Children's Programs
4 out of 5
Our girls ar 16 and 17 and they went to the meet and greet the first night on board but at their ages they pretty much do their own thing anyway.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Service was exceptional with every person we encountered on board. No complaints whatsoever at all.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Loved the layout. Never felt crowded anywhere. Very clean and well kept.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Room Steward Andrew was amazing. The room itself was a typical balcony stateroom for size. Room was clean and well kept by the room steward. Andrew couldn't do enough for us. Big screen tv and free movies is really nice for the times we wanted to just have a night or afternoon in our room.
Ship tip
Make the most of every moment because 10 days go by so very fast. The staff were exceptional and the service was too. Eber at guest services went above and beyond when our airline lost all of our luggage and managed to get it for us 5 days into our cruise. Everything was absolutely wonderful.
First port of call on 19 day South America cruise. Been many times. Decent porridge. Just walked and shopped handy to the dock. Didn't do an excursion.
Lovely port of call. We didn't do an excursion but got the water taxi from the port to the beach. Had a grand day. We also got our lost luggage delivered to us after 7 days into a 15 day vacation. So really liked this port...lol!
Great port of call. Didn't do a shore excursion as such but rented a taxi that gave us a 2 hr tour of the southern part of Bonaire. The taxi driver was wonderful and very informative. We stopped when we got back and had drink and some snacks at a bar/restaurant right at the dock.
Did do a beach day shore excursion in this port of call. Again it was wonderful. Nice beach. Great service from all the staff on the excursion. Great food and drinks at the beach and our girls loved the beach, swimming and suntaning.
We chose the walk off disembarkation because we had an early morning flight from Fort Lauderdale. Everything went smooth as silk. Walked off with our luggage, got a taxi and was at the airport by 7:30 and checked in.
No medallion wasn't on the ship or least it wasn't offered to us anyway. The only place we saw it was at the spa and I am not sure that they were using it.
