On all the HAL ships that offer Dive In and NY pizza deli, those two venues are inconsistent on quality. One day you’ll get the best pizza ever, the next day it’s the worst. Same with the burgers. The fries on the other hand are always good! All the specialty dining, dining room and Lido seem consistent to me. Great variety and quality. I only had one complaint once on the Nieuw Statendam. The Lido steak offered was literally raw. My husband took it over to the counter and right away the Chef was contacted and he rushed out and addressed the matter. All the ‘prepared’ steaks were pulled immediately and cooked further. I get it, stuff happens but I was sure glad I didn’t get sick. And my next steak was cooked perfectly at Medium-Medium rare.

Ribeirm, we were on Rotterdam last November too. I think the food was very good but not great. Thanks for your review. We love the Rotterdam anyways!

I cruised on the Holland America Rotterdam last November and I must say it had to be the absolute best ship/cruise I've been on. It was my 28th cruise in 10 years on various cruiseline ships, mostly NCL and I will repeat it was the best ever. Dining: Buffet, great quality and varieties. Main Dining room: excellent quality, variety and service. It seemed as if everyday was better than the previous Specialty Dining: I am a steak lover and I must say the steak on the Rotterdam was the best of any other cruiseline specialty restaurants. Entertainment: best theater of all the ships that I have cruised on. Great variety and quality of shows. B.B.King's Blues club and the Rock n Roll club offered superb entertainment on alternating nights.
