Listen to the music. The Windjammer is as good or better than the Edelweiss and times are flexible. But if you drink, definately get the drink package. And be aware you will be charged gratuity for cabin stewards separate from the package.

Plan and book your shore excursion, valet parking and other packages before your cruise. It was a great feeling to step on the ship and enjoy myself without having to book last minute packages. Take an analogue watch to stay on ship's time. That was always a little confusion with the port time until I got adjusted to the time diferences.

This ship is great for first time cruisers its not to big but not small. Make sure if this is going to be your first time on a ship this size try to stick to a cabin somewhere in the middle of the ship as the front can get a little rocky.

Consider renting a scooter if you have mobility issues. Our cabin was a long way from the elevators. We had the added problem that halfway through the cruise 2 of use came down with influenza A. Fingers crossed it doesn't happen next year!

It’s a small ship, with very little shopping, except for the last day at sea. Room service is reasonable and excellent service. Nachos were the best

Eat breakfast in the dining room! The eggs benedict are wonderful!
We also liked the "my time" dining. We were able to decide each day what time we would like to have dinner.
Take the opportunity to visit each lounge area and see some of the entertainers.
If you have older children or teenagers, you may want to consider a larger RC ship as there were not a lot of activities for them. We didn't travel with children, so the atmosphere was perfect for us. Total relaxation!!

I didn't fully take into account that by going out of Tampa, the ship would be one of the older ships.

Ship is small - so plan excursions when in port or you could go stir-crazy!

Book on a different ship, class, or company. I'll never sail on Royal ever again. I have sailed on other companies and this was my first time on Royal. I heard the Royal exeriance was in a class above the rest. I've spent years convincing my husband to take a cruise. He had never been in one and didn't like the idea if it. I hyped him up about the wonderful food and experience of cruising. After hearing that royal was the best, we strayed from my loyal cruise company and decided to book with Royal. I was 100% dissatisfied and look like a phony after taking this cruise. Every single thing I raved about was an utter disappointment with Royal. I'll never step foot on another Royal Caribbean Ship for as long as I live. When you pay more right out of the gate for a cruise, you expect higher standards. This didn't even cover the basics. It was like paying to stay at the Ritz Carlton but ending up at a roadside motel. NEVER AGAIN! Go with Carnival!
