Nice compact ship & great itinerary! by TuomasV

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We decided on this cruise based on the ports, none of which we had visited before! Sure, there could have been a third sea day, bit still overall this itinerary was close to perfect! As our previous cruise was on the newest and biggest RCCL ship (Symphony OTS) we thought we would feel Rhapsody to be small and worn out. However we were very pleasantly surprised how well maintained and clean the ship was! Certainly some of the carpets and colour schemes are not the most recent style, but as there was no wear&tear it didn't matter.

Cheeky little 6 nighter by IAmTillyJ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and renewed our interest in RCI, cruising on one of their smaller ships. Very friendly staff and we met some great people from UK and USA. Many nationalities on board and an interesting mix of entertainment. Not as many gimmicks on board as larger RCI ships but that, for us, was a plus.

Royal did not impress me. by ndMoreCruises

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Overall I was happy. First time on royal so have nothing to compare it to but I would rank it 3rd I guess. Celebrity, carnival and RC then Norwegian. Not all for ship but different criteria. Hard to say in short survey but I’d try one of the bigger ships and not go to good ports to really compare the line. For the price it wasn’t great.

This was an older smaller... by DeeDeeTravels

Sail date: /
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

This was an older smaller ship but because of that it never felt over crowded. There were a lot of activities and the entertainment was amazing. The food was GGGRREEEAATT from the main dining room to the buffet in the windjammer to the ice cream machines...top notch ...and I’m a foodie!! I have been on larger boats but I liked the intimacy of the rhapsody!!

GREAT TRIP by radiodial

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We liked that this ship was small, it enabled us to feel at home quickly. The staff was always pleasant and helpful especially the cruise director and his staff - Contagiously high energy. It was a great week, thanks for the memories.

Quite enjoyable by terrible3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

Not sure if I would cruise royal Caribbean again No bottle water in cabins or toiletries in bathroom. Paying for cup of tea to be sent to cabin on a afternoon for my mum I thought was not good

Loved it. First time for my husband who was reluctant by fordy05

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

Loved the whole experience. This was my husbands first cruise and my 3rd. He was a reluctant cruiser so we choose this Greece-Croatia Mediterranean cruise as it had many port stops and was only 7 nights. Turns out he loved it. We chose a balcony cabin 7024 which gave us many opportunities to view the beautiful ports as we came and left. Breakfast became a must on our balcony as we soon found we did not enjoy Windjammers selections for breakfast, lunch or dinner. In saying that we used Windjammers for snacking-taking fresh fruit, cereal, milk, yoghurt and cheese back to the room. We tried izumis-Japanese-nice, Chops-good steaks and Giovannis-italian all were quite tasty but not first class. The main dining room for main meals were as good as the specialty restaurants no complaints here. The service staff on the whole ship are really marvellous, diligent, attentive and do know how to make you feel special. From our young assitant waiter Dmitrii to Oscar-our cabin steward attendant and Rowena and Joah our drink waiters in the Schooner bar we could not fault their service. We did enjoy The Schooner Bar and particularly liked the Pianist/singer in the late evenings. Entertainment onboard was a bit hit and miss-one show we walked out of because the female lead was so out of key we couldn't watch-whether or not that was sound or ear piece issues we were unsure-but many people were talking about it the next day. However there were many other options around the ship to enjoy oneself, particularly at sea days. The ship itself could definitely do with a revamp, outdated furnishings etc...but it was clean and comfortable. The ports- *Dubrovnik-cool-we hired a scooter on our own from Modena scooter hire and it proved to be a very fun day. *Kotor-Montenegro-boring,but the day we went was raining and had lots of cloud coverage-we went on the Grand Montenegro Day excursion booked through the cruise I do not recommend it. The ear pieces were poor and it was boring and long. The highlight was lunch because we far good company at our table. *Santorini-big let down because of thousand of tourists. we did the Oia Village tour which encompassed a winery tasting at Santo Wine Winery which was the worse wine I have ever tasted.I do not recommend this tour. Oia itself is stunning but you do not get to enjoy any of it because of the crowds. *Katakalon- Loved it- this place is bliss- don’t go to Olympia get off at port, cruise he shops, buy some beautiful jewellery at Christos (family run and quality guaranteed and backed by the cruise ship) . You can negotiate a lower price with them. You will be treated like royalty. Lunch at Porto’s by the sea.... great Greek hospitality, reasonably priced, beautiful food, great atmosphere. Then hop on the dipping train at the end of the street for 6 euros and enjoy the town. *Venice-Loved it Verdict we like cruising, and will definitely do it again

Awesome, fun and great food! by PlanoBarb

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We missed the first half of the cruise because American Airlines canceled our flight and met the ship in Athens, Greece. So, Mykonos and Fiskardo and Assos on the island of Kafalonia were our only stops and were the best places to see. Weather was beautiful, roads were new and a big travel coach made it over the hairpin turns. Amazing!

Really beautiful cruise by Ciderflower

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Beautiful cruise. I would have enjoy it much more, had I not gotten sick with the flu. Last year we were on the Symphony out of Barcelona, which is much larger. I enjoyed the Rhapsody better for its smaller size and crowds.

Transatlantic relaxation by bmangus

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

This is a small ship in comparison and is an older vessel. It is worn and shows many signs of age and the aging process. Much of the crew acts as though this may be their first assignment or their last chance of staying with the corporation. We had numerous crew interactions that we could not determine if the crew member did not know or did not care about your question. The cabins are small, dated, but clean. The public areas are also dated but clean.

Relaxing And Fun by bhendrix

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

We had a nice time. This is the smallest ship I’ve been on and I found that I much prefer the large ships. If you like seeing the same people for your whole trip, this is a great way to make new friends.

Wonderful spring Trans Atlantic crossing! by ECruiseLife

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

Really nice relaxing trip. It took me back to the kinds of trips we took in the 80's and 90's. A real old school cruise with good people activities and person-to-person communication. The food and service was very good, as well as the on board entertainment. Overall, an unforgettable experience which we would be in favor of repeating!

An Awesome First Time Experience! by EClemons

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

Rhapsody is a delightful older ship that really connects the traveler with the surrounding oceans and scenery. You can literally see the ocean from just about everywhere you are on board. No bells and whistles here. A rock climbing wall is their only outdoor feature besides your hot tubs and pools etc. it's just intimate surroundings, excellent food and staff, and that good cruise feel that you might remember if you cruised in the 80's or 90's! Our audience was quite a bit older than most, as we sailed from Tampa in late April, but we met a lot of delightful seniors on board. The entertainment was a lot better than I thought it would be! There were several solid acts on this sailing! I was pleasantly surprised and impressed. The staff took the cake. Just about every member we encountered was enthusiastic to help in any way and serve in any way possible. Makeli and Jemma were balls of energy on the cruise director staff. There were plenty of activities on board to fill your day if you wanted. My only complaint is that nobody was ever in the night club or later dance activities...partly (I think) because the DJ did not adjust the music to fit the tastes of 55-70 year olds...and partly because it was late for most seniors! Overall, an excellent trans-Atlantic experience that I would do again!
