needs more freestyle machines: some of them were broke a lot.

dining room needs to be open more hours, one and a half hours for breakfast is not enough, The Windjammer was always crowded, due to no dining room hours.

Nice Cruise; Recommend booking your anytime dining time before you go by cmaslowski

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The weather at all our ports of call was fantastic!  The ship is smaller but the shows were top notch including the on board singers and dancers. We had a young Elvis impersonator which was fantastic.  Food & service in specialty dining (Chops & Izumis) was exceptional. Food in the main dining for supper was good but not as good as the specialty restaurants.  The dinner service (wait staff) was very good. We had anytime dining but every nite we had to wait for a table because the anytime dining was also booked every nite which really defeats the purpose of having anytime dining SO I recommend setting up your anytime dining time before you go.  Never had a problem or had to wait to be seated until this cruise.  Also, this ship has 1 outdoor pool and 1 indoor pool. The indoor pool was nice on the last day when the weather outside was not so nice.  The disembarkation needs a some work (coordinating the very long line of people so you don't get ahead of other passengers) if you leave with your luggage early am but once the line started moving, it went fairly quick.

Relaxing and fun time! by gly219

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Food was good, entertainment was great! They had an Elvis impersonator that was the best I have ever seen. One of the two comedians wasn't that good but the other was. They had a juggler as well as the song and dance team. My only complaint about the activities is that if you had early dining time and wanted to see the main show, you could never see a movie as they started halfway through the live entertainment or at 6 and our dining time was 5:30PM. It is a smaller ship than any I have been on but still lots to do and the pool wasn't too crowded but the hot tubs always were. We went to 4 ports 4 days in a row and that was great, just know that one of those ports is tendered so if the weather is bad (windy) you won't be able to go. That did not happen to me on this cruise but has on others.

Rhapsody - Western Caribbean - 2/25/17 - 3/4/17 by johnh23423

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Enjoyed most of our time and had wonderful service from most of your staff. We were in room 8518 and had Table 123 in main dining room. Gerald did a great job with our room and gets a 10+ for his service. Rayson and Muhammad were outstanding in the dining room and get a 10+ for their service. The bottle/drinks guy was slow every night and several times we did not get our drinks until after we finished our starter, and we give him a 5. Our Concierge, Ligia, was wonderful and gets a 10+ for her service.

Now for our concerns.  The only news channels in our room spent most nearly all of our 7 days bashing the President of the United States.  This was a real problem for us.  Your internet signal was very weak and we had trouble maintaining a connection with your wifi router.  Finally, your casino was more like a smoking lounge. We like to gamble and spent many hours in your casino, but the smoke was too much for us, especially at night.  We did not use our Sea Pass in the machines as yours were not punched, and you did not provide a lanyard or something else to attach to your card.

This was our first cruise with Royal Caribbean, and we have always went to Ft. Lauderdale and cruised with Princess.  Unless RC addresses the concerns listed above, we will probably not cruise with you guys again.

Not handicapped friendly by pmsouthwick

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I was injured prior to cruise. We tried to get a table in dining room near door so we could get wheelchair in and out easier. We wanted a small table as my husband is partially deaf and he says many at a table is a "nightmare". We neede an early dine time due to diabetes issue.we got none after dealing with an unsympathetic dining powerful person. We never got to eat in the dining room. We ate on lido deck. Couldn't see choices husband would get my meal and get my drink and get his meal and get his drink. By then my meal was cold there is one handicapped table. Meal time was a trial every day. Few wheelchair excursions. Doorsills were difficult to get over. A day before our cruise we got off a three week holland American cruise. We sat at a window table each evening near door we could get in and out. If we happened to eat at the buffet someone would help me through the line and find our seating. On that cruise I never felt like an inconvenience or bother.friends that we often travel with are looking at  arc cruise out of Baltimore next winter.hopefully I can convince them to find a different line.

Old ship - Needs Updates - Very Dissatisfied with Royal Carribean! by karenstoltz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall, the ship was in need of repair.  As we walked down the hallway to our rooms (3), there was a disgusting smell - that lasted throughout the trip.  We were near the front of the ship on level 2.  When our friends walked into their room, the smell was so awful, they immediately called housekeeping who came in and sprayed something to make the air more pleasant.  (Really?)  As our friends were unpacking, they noticed the carpet was soaking wet.  So the crews came in to extract the water, shampoo the carpet and turn the fans on to dry it out.  But the next day when walking to the bathroom, our friends stepped in another huge wet spot - right in front of their bathroom.  She was horrified!  Where was this water coming from?  Again the crews came back to dry out the room.  It took three days to finally get the room right.  After two days they offered our friends to move to another room right by the busy elevators - away from the rest of us.  However, was that their only resolution?  Our friends did not accept the offer - they wanted to be in the same area as the rest of us.

Royal Caribbean really dragged their feet to try to fix the problem and make our trip a positive experience - they had procedures to follow and just continued to drag the situation out!  I feel they should offer our friends a complete refund.

I would not recommend this cruise line or ship to anyone!

Also, we did not get a good nights sleep even for one night as the noise below us

was terrible - banging and moving things around all night long!

On the positive side, the food and the food service personnel were excellent!

Also the shore excursions were great!

The entertainment was OK.

Food was fabulous. Stops were good.  Yes I would recommend it.

Maybe Have better prices on shore excursions, as they are pretty high.

The entertainment was good, and the staff were very friendly.

Relaxing week but not the Royal Caribbean we've experienced before. by cruiseadict

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We enjoyed our week on this cruise but won't book this ship again. It's an old ship that needs updating. There really isn't much to do on this ship, although that didn't bother us this trip. If we'd had our grandchildren with us, then we would have been very disappointed. First, let me say that the cruise director was excellent. Dan Dan was funny, talented and genuine (not over the top annoying like many are). Our servers at dinner were also amazing. We did the my time dining which was a complete mess! We were told we needed to book a table and were offered 5.30 or 8pm, which are the exact times of the early and late seatings! We could line up and wait, but that would be a long wait time, being told to come back at 8! Our servers the first night were great, and he told us we could add his name to our 8pm booking to get in his section. Every night we were told they had just seated people and they would be another hour. Why would they do this if we had requested him??? We were eventually seated in his section on the last night. Unfortunately we found the food bland and boring. The best part of the meal was the dessert, which was much better. The windjammer restaurant was a complete mess! There was no clear start point, with plates in various places and the food station in a circular system. It was total chaos! Couple that with the clientele mostly seniors, many with wheelchairs, it was terrible! We also found the service for breakfast bad in the restaurant. We were made to feel we were inconveniencing them by being there. We ordered juice and toast which did not arrive. Eggs that came with a plate of other food I didn't order or want. On the last morning we were seated on a very large table. We eventually saw a server 10 mins later who slowly came round the table with bread. I asked if we could order my daughter's food, as we needed to get off. We were bluntly told no, there were many people before us. My daughter is gluten intolerant and cannot eat most of the food in the buffet, but they served gluten free pancakes in the restaurant. She is 15 and actually lost weight on this cruise. She was also served raw chicken in the dining room one evening. The staff were very apologetic and sent her some chocolate strawberries. She is 100 lbs soaking wet and I was very worried she would get sick!

We went to Cozumel on this trip, but we docked at the old port which isn't as nice as the new one.

The entertainment was very good, with good singers, comedians and we were lucky enough to see the Vegas Tenors, who were amazing!!! Seating in the theatre was excellent, with most seats having a great view, which is rare.

So, even though we would not book this ship again, we did have a great time and would cruise Royal Caribbean again, making sure we chose a newer ship.

Perfect sized ship!! by Clemsontiger

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a junior suite on the Rhapsody of the Seas, and I loved the balcony. We had dinner at Chops one night, and I can honestly say it was the best steak I have ever had!! The service was awesome!

The one thing that they don't tell you about this ship is that the entertainment was top notch! Two comedians, a juggler and the Las Vegas Tenors were spectacular! They are on several cruise ships, so if you get a chance to hear them, check them out! They sing everything from Tony Bennett to Motown and it was well worth it!

Rhapsody of the seas by Meljay

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The staff from beginning to end went above and beyond. Service was excellent, staff always smiled and was courteous.  There was always something delicious to eat, whether in main dining room or buffet. The activities were fun and we'll thought out. There was always something for everyone. Yes it's an older ship but very well kept. Our room was kept clean 24/7. This was our first cruise so had nothing to compare it to, but was not disappointed at all. From beginning to end was like a well oiled machine which made it very simple for us. The ports of call were all great as well,we were so glad to have chosen this one for our first cruise !

We enjoyed all aspects of the cruise and felt the crew overall was outstanding.  The dining wait staff and the room  service staff were exceptional.  Went on 4 excursions offered by RC. They all included very competent and personable guides, and were well organized.

Good Cruise by lindaw47

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ports were great.  We had not been to Costa Maya and loved the way it looked and felt but the merchants were so pushy trying to get you into their stores.  There was one out on the sidewalk and two at front, almost not letting you pass....this were pretty much at every store.  We ran into this same problem in Cozemul.  Actually felt  a little threatened by them.  The food on ship was okay but nothing special like we have had on previous cruise.  The ship had been updated except not the cabins (except bathroom)  The entertainment was one of the best we have encountered. and the staff was excellent

Rhapsody of the Seas by 2morehogs

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My last few cruises with Royal Caribbean have not been as good as the past. The evening menus aren't as good. The food at the buffets is more like goulash. It seems like they are trying to save money. The service is still excellent as always.

great get away by bart31149264

Good food but sometimes too salty. Entertainment was good but dance leaders believe that line dancing applies to all types of music such as Caribbean & 70's music. It does NOT.

Less than expected. by Ellen1966

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We enjoyed sailing with friends. The ship looked a little worn. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was quite good but the offerings in the main dining room was limited. The primary negative point was having reservations as welll as "anytime eating" in the main dining room. Our reservations were at 8:00 but they seated people at that table at 7:30. No way would they be done at 8:00. The whole week it was a fiasco.

Good Itinerary by USACruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Itinerary was great. We wish we could have had about 2 more hours in the afternoon in each port. I recommend taking excursions. Ours were great! It turned out to be an older person gambling cruise. This was fine for us as we don't gamble. Was surprised not to get a repeaters invitation to a repeaters cocktail party. I asked stateroom attendant about it but I don't know if she understood what I was talking about. Shows were good not exceptional. There was a lot of line dancing classes that were fun but only a few poolside activities and the nightlife on the ship was nonexistent until the last night of the cruise. The one Salsa dancing class they did on the last sea day was excellent. Kudos to the dancers!

Singer Hn/aolly T. was OUTSTANDING by ptambrino

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The entertainment was the best and singer Holly T. was outstanding.  However, the comedian on the last night was the only very poor act -- they should not use him again --- use Holly T. more.

Regarding Cruises.only I was disappointed there was no on-board credit given on this cruise???
