Review summary

Will just add that we will not use RCCL again until they update their smoking policy. We do not care for ships that smokers ruin it for others. We have been very happy with Princess and think we will remain with them until RCCL comes into the 21st century.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
ok, just a bit of a zoo and trying to sell at every step

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Adult beverages were a bit pricey but what else in new. Dining rooms a zoo and somewhat over populated to the point of hard to move around. Not overly enjoyable. Food okay at best and a little disappointing.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Wanted to take the beer seminar but they only mustered up 4 people, said once we had arrived that they needed 6 to run....perfect example of penalizing the 4 who showed up. Not the right thing to do for your customers.

Casino Royale

1 out of 5

Reeked with smokers!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
These were okay but 4 stars is a stretch. Think we went every evening to the theater in the front. Singers, dancers & band were good.

Children's Programs

2 out of 5
No children along but there did not appear there were a lot of attractions for kids. Passengers appeared to be mostly retirees.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Pretty good and on par with other cruises.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
23-24 year old ship but kept up pretty well.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Most everything worked in room. Appeared small when we first arrived, but everything pretty much fit and we were able to get everything stored away with room to spare. If we had larger luggage it would have been challenging. Fairly quiet for sleeping as we were mid-ship, 3rd level. Good location with good access to most everything.

Ports of call

Tampa, Florida Did not visit port

Already had spent time in Tampa.

Key West, Florida

5 out of 5
No excursions, but walked the town. Very close to ship.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
Self created excursion with good taxi driver who did a very good job showing us the sights.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
Interesting port and never felt unsafe. Really dislike the way the shops sell. They are in your face as soon as you get on shore!

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

4 out of 5
Shopping, shopping, and shopping. We got a taxi ride into what locals call town. Interesting. Only had a beer but was none the less, enjoyable.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Had read about the disjointed disembarkation in Tampa but it did go very smoothly and we were 20 minutes ahead of schedule posted. We used Rowe Transpertation and it was great.

Royal Caribbean restricts smoking to specific locations just as Princess. We’ve been on multiple cruises and never had any issues. The only place we noticed any smoke smell was when walking through the casino.

For a lot of cruisers smoking is not good. We are not smokers, however it does not bother us
