Review summary

I would do this cruise again. Just be sure you know what is offered so you won't be disappointed there are no bumper cars or water slides etc. A great cruise for relaxing.

Embarkation

From the time we were dropped off to stepping into the ship was only ten minutes. Incredibly efficient!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We did not do any speciality restaurants. The buffet was above average compared to Carnival and Norwegian. Seemed like a larger selection of proteins. The desserts were notably better. We were in the main dining room three nights. The first two nights dinner was under an hour but the third night ran 1 1/2 hours. Waited 25 minutes for desert. We should have left. The wait staff was pleasant and friendly. One night I had the steak and it was tough and grisly. However, my wife had the tenderloin of beef and it was the best I have ever tasted.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The ship has two pools one is outside and is fairly roomy with lots of chairs. For those that wanted the sun chairs were usually available. There are 4 hot tubs around the pool. There is also an indoor pool with two hot tubs at the rear of the ship. This was a great space for adults only. We spent some time at both pools and enjoyed ourselves.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
This was a mixed selection. The singers and dancers in the production company were talented and engaging but I felt the shows were weak. The band's around the ship were mediocre at best. The specialty acts were fantastic. A singer who had appeared in 10 years of the Jersey Boys cast was very good and a terrific showman. The illusionist was spellbinding and the things he did were well......magic. Two excellent comedians also.

Children's Programs

No kids.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Very friendly staff were as good as any I have encountered in previous cruises. Our room steward, Sandra, was the best one we have ever had. Friendly and efficient. Buffet stpuff were very friendly.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Loved the design. The common areas were all clustered on three decks making it easy to move from one event to another. The ship was clean and we'll maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
This was a cabin with windows. Small in size but with loads of nooks and cubbies for storage. Adequate room for us. Small couch in the room was nice. No refrigerator. Deck two is a long hike from the pool and buffet on deck nine but this cabin was convenient to the elevator which was never crowded after the first day.

Ship tip

There is not as much to do in this ship as on the bigger ships. They provide lots of trivia sessions which I usually like. The passenger age seemed surprisingly old on this sailing but I was told by someone who had been on the ship the previous week that the passengers had been a younger set and the bands playing around the ship had been better.

Ports of call

Tampa, Florida Did not visit port

We live there.

Key West, Florida

5 out of 5
Key West is very interesting. There is much to do here including water activities, historical sites, shopping and drinking. Did not do an excursion.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Seven Mile beach is second to none. We were unable to anchor in the usual spot due to high winds and wave action. Instead we went to a sheltered spot on the south coast and tendered to an alternate dock. Royal Caribbean provided a shuttle to downtown. It was all very efficient and we got to see the south end of the island. We had planned to do a beach day but the high winds scared us off. We ended up taking a taxi tour of the West end of the island. A two hour tour cost us $20. Driver, Josephine, was very knowledgeable and quite nice even though one of the other passenger was kind of a jerk.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Great port. We have been there many times and always enjoy it. Great water activities. Food tastings. Mayan ruins.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

4 out of 5
This is really just a shopping village built at the end of the pier by the cruise line. To get to the town and beach requires a two mile commute. Taxis charge $4 each way per person. One couple we talked to said they had rented a golf cart for the day and it turned out to be great fun. We did not make the trip into town but the water looked wonderful. Next time we will make a real effort to snorkel.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very efficiently. We opted to be the last group off because we're not in a hurry. After a leisurely breakfast we waited a few minutes until our number was called and got off the ship and through customs without any delay.

So glad you enjoyed.

Glad you enjoyed it. We cruise for the ports and relaxation and prefer the smaller ships without amusement and water parks.

We always cruise to relax and avoid DisneyWorld because of the bumper cars and water slides.
