Review summary

Wouldn’t do a TA on such a small ship again, done two previously on Freedom class and they were fantastic. Going east to west was also not good for your sleeping patterns as added an hour per night for 6 nights which totally threw my sleeping out of schedule. Was tired by 9.00pm but was waking at 5.00 in the morning. At least was able to see the Tampa bridge as again was awake as we went under it. Overall staff were fantastic couldn’t fault any of them but it was difficult for them to keep us amused due to the lack of areas on the ship to catty out activities.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
This was very quick from taxi to ship less than 10 minutes

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food in the MDR was pretty mediocre RCCL really are cutting back and some of the meals I chose were really inedible, windjammer ok as normal wasn’t too busy could always find a seat.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Didn’t really do much as can’t rock climb but pool area was good on sea days and not too cold

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Some were good others mediocre didn’t go to all due to clock changes affecting sleeping patterns

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff we dealt with were brilliant were always smiling and very helpful, cost be a lot in extra bucks as felt I needed to award them more for going that extra mile

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
Ship is old and and needs updating was poor for a TA as too many activities clashed and the only place they could anything really was the centrum so hardly and seating having to watch from all the different floors.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was comfortable with plenty of hanging and storage places. No kettle lucky I was able to sneak a kettle on board for morning cuppa. Doors on cupboards were not fitting properly so me with my travel kit fixed them. Couldn’t really fault cabin other than above also note was able to get luggage under the bed.

Ship tip

Don’t do a TA on her too small for so many sea days

Ports of call

Barcelona, Spain

4 out of 5
Did a Segway tour here didn’t feel any problems with the locals although there had been riots etc week before

Lanzarote, Canary Islands

3 out of 5
Took local tour was good up to the crater but a bit boring really.

Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, Canary Islands

3 out of 5
Took local tour this was better and different from first one but not a lot to see

Santa Cruz De La Palma, Canary Islands

5 out of 5
Best local tour went to the top of the world, fantastic view above the clouds felt you could touch the sun. Would highly recommend this but if you are queasy about mountain driving don’t as there are 192 hair pin bends on the way to the summit

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Too old for water park sat by pool for a few hours had something to eat, average, and went back to the ship very much attuned to the younger cruiser

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Ship was late in as too much traffic in channel docked 7.30 instead of 4.30. So many self carry offs that they really couldn’t cope. Our number was 5 which they called along with 4,6,8 which meant waiting on the gangway for nearly half an hour to get too luggage retrieval the immigration which took another half an hour. Not all desks were open and on one the official was doing a special project even though there were massive queues no special line for USA citizens not like other ports and airports.
