Review summary

We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise, we visited some lovely places that we hadn't been to before which was really nice. The staff throughout were great, we couldn't find fault with anyone of them. The ship is comfortable and has everything you need. We would recommend Rhapsody and would probably use again.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The staff were helpful and friendly. The whole check in procedure went smoothly and we were on board in a very short time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We mainly used the Windjammer, the choice of food was amazing, there was plenty of variety and something to suit every palate. We had 2 children with us and they always found something that they liked. One night we used the main dining room, it was very nice, there was a decent choice of food, the bread rolls could have been fresher, but again the staff were friendly and pleasant. The bar staff were great, always ready with a smile.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
There was a video arcade which our boys enjoyed, they don't like kids clubs so didn't use those, but they seemed to cater for all ages with plenty of activities. They enjoyed the table tennis and the swimming pools and jacuzzis. It was a bit of a let down that the swimming pool was salty, the main reason I didn't use it.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The entertainment staff were brilliant, the shows in the theatre were very good and we always enjoyed them. The musicians in different areas of the ship were always very good, although sometimes it felt a bit repetitive.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All of the staff that we had contact with were friendly, polite and professional. The waiters in the Windjammer were always so cheerful and smiling, a great start to the day. Our room steward was helpful and always did a great job.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship is easy to move around, everything is well signed and everywhere seemed clean and tidy.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was large interior, it had a double bed and then 2 pull down beds, perfect for our son, 10 & 13. The bathroom was quite small but perfectly functional. There was a decent amount of hanging space but we ran short of drawer space, or maybe we just took too many clothes!! The cabin was always kept clean for us and had everything we needed.

Ship tip

Always try and get a midships cabin, we had a couple of rough days and elsewhere on the ship you could feel quite a lot of movement but in our cabin it was far less noticeable.

Ports of call

Venice, Italy

5 out of 5
A lovely city to explore, we just wandered by ourselves, plenty to see and lots of lovely shops.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

5 out of 5
We got a mini bus transfer from the port (7 in our group) which took us just outside the city walls. This was cheaper than taxi's for us. We explored by ourselves, enjoyed the cafes and ice cream bars and took in the lovely views.

Kotor, Montenegro

5 out of 5
This was a lovely place to visit, and there are some lovely squares, churches and views to be seen. Lots of little cafe bars as well.

Santorini, Greece

5 out of 5
We took a boat trip from Thira to Oia, which included a bus transfer back to Thira. The queue to got on the cable car was huge and would have taken ages. The boat tip was a lovely way to see a bit more of the island. We walked down the hill past all of the donkeys and horses, it was really sad to see so many be forced to carry people up and down quite a steep hill, much better to walk!! Some lovely shops to have a wander round!

Katakolon (Olympia), Greece

5 out of 5
We stayed local and had a walk around the shops and had a drink in one of cafes on the waterfront. We also took a horse and cart ride, which was took us along the beach and around the local houses, but didn't really show us much more of the area, this was 5 euro per person.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
The staff were efficient and our luggage was delivered promptly. We had a later disembarkation time so it was fairly quiet when we left the ship.
