Review summary

Great ship, Great Crew, Great Food, Interesting Ports of Call. Dining service was exceptional and fun - not so formal. We were on board the ship about 45 minutes before the cabins were available. The buffet was CRAZY! No seats, no plates. The staff was still amazing! My advice is to wait to board the ship after 1:30 (or whatever time you can get into the cabin). As soon as guest could get to their cabins, the buffet area cleared out and our Great Cruise began.

Clean and roomy for an interior value cabin. Most space we've had in 4 cruises. Our cabin steward was excellent and very personable.

Ship tip

Great ship. We celebrated its 20th anniversary while on board (upgraded in 2012). You can't walk all the way around the mid-ship deck... a little disappointing, but the track on the 9th deck was a full 1/4 mile. Plan to have fun on this ship and be treated very well!

The tour we took gave us 60 minutes to shop and be on the beach. Where we were dropped off, there weren't many shops and the beach was not ideal. The tour guide was very interesting, although we didn't hear anything about pirates.

Our excursion to the beach was cancelled. We did take an impromptu 60 minute wagon ride. The tour guide was pretty good. The areas we saw did not "call me to return."

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

Very nice ship shopping area with a sandy sitting area and pool. Very busy spot. Great "flying" demonstration and wonderful view from atop the tower. Tour was interesting, but our guide was on a strict schedule for sure!

Best port on cruise. Great port shops. Lots of excursion options. We took a Mayan History Tour. Guide was great and free margarita at Margaritaville on our guide was perfect touch. Be careful purchasing things outside the cruise shops. We found better prices there than while we were touring.
