Review summary

We had a wonderful time on the Rhapsody of the Seas. The food, excursions, and the theater shows were favorites. The staff was fantastic! Friendly, helpful and always had a smile!

The excursions were fun and we learned about each Island from the tour guides. Playing with monkeys and beach time in Roatan, hiking through the jungle and cave tubing in Belize, then bike riding and snorkeling in Cozumel, we had a blast!

Can't wait to go on my next cruise!!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was great! Only negative is that food wasn't available around the clock as expected. Last cafe' shut down at 12:30. Didn't try the room service though....

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The activities were cool. Could have used more that were geared to a mix of ages and the entire family. Mostly seemed that a lot were for older guests. Again, not a lot of teens on the ship...

Entertainment

5 out of 5
LOVED the musicals! Very impressed with the performers. Wish there had been more - especially on the days we were on board all day. I could sit and watch musicals round the clock!

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
Went to the teen area a few times, but there wasn't very much going on as listed on the itinerary. Probably due to the fact that there weren't very many teens on board. :)

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room attendant, Jarvis, was amazing!! Our main dining waiters, Katina and Marie were fantastic!! And the entertainment staff was the bomb!

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship was nice and clean, the attendant for our room seemed to be magical as he was never seen in there, but always had it cleaned and tidy between our entrance and exits..... Loved how well he pampered us. Thanks Jarvis!! One of my greatest disappointments for the entire cruise (along with missing Costa Maya) was that smoking was allowed in the casino. The smoke permeated outside the Casino to the areas on each side, and traveling to and from the main theater, we had to pass through the casino. :/

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It was small, but accommodated our family of three adults and one teen just fine. Lots of storage cabinets and drawers were nice. We did have to leave our luggage on the small couch to keep it out of the way, but it was doable. The bath was also small but sufficient.

Ship tip

Last area serving food for the evening is Park Cafe'. It closes at 12:30am. :) Do Karaoke in the "Shall We Dance" lounge. It's fun!

We booked with Bodden Tours. We enjoyed our tour of Fun N Sun visiting Victor's zoo of White Faced Monkeys, beautifully huge Parrots and ended it with a visit to the beach before returning to the ship. Learned lots of educational info of the island, from our tour guide, Elyn. She was native to the local, funny and knowledgeable. To schedule: victorbodden@yahoo.com (we paid $50 ea)

Belize City, Belize

Loved our excursion at Belize, which included an informational tour on the way to cave tubing! Our guide, Gabriel was native to Belize, and full of interesting information. The hike through the jungle was great and the tubing was one of my favorite parts of the vacation. Afterward we had a home cooked meal at Vitalino's home/business, before returning to the ship. Chicken, rice&beans and slaw. It was tasty! vitalinoreyes@gmail.com cavetubingbiz.com (we paid $79 ea)

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

Didn't get to dock, due to high winds/waves.

Cozumel, Mexico

Cozumel was awesome, could have used another day or two to tour the island. We chose the Electric Bike Ride and Snorkeling excursion. Our guides were awesome. My daughter and I were a bit slower than the others. Thanks to Fernando for assisting us. He was amazing! We had lunch at Sky Reef after snorkeling and then we chose to taxi back to town. Booked through Cruise Compete at info@shoreex.com (we paid $29 ea)
