Review summary

I experienced this cruise with my husband and grown children. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire time on board the Rhapsody of the Seas and were impressed with the always helpful and pleasant staff. Our stateroom was kept in top shape and most needs were readily attended to when we were about the ship. The only negative that we experienced was the lack of sufficient lounge chairs on the two "at sea" days. Our favorite part was visiting the numerous ports of call in Greece and Turkey. This kept us very busy as 7 of the 11 days we were docked or tendered at one of those ports. We arrived back home and felt we needed another vacation to recuperate!  All in all, this is a fantastic way to visit multiple locations while traveling with a group of 6.

If you want to lounge with a friend on deck during a cruise day, get all your things together and grab two chairs before 10am.

Get up to Fira anyway that works for you...walking, donkey or lift! If you travel to Ia by bus, be sure to leave enough time to return by bus as there are no return boats available unless they are booked with a tour beforehand.

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

5 out of 5
We found a tour at the dock. It was fantastic and half the price than those available through the cruise line.

Mykonos, Greece

Find the bus stop and travel to any of several beautiful beaches for a couple of Euro. Beware of "free umbrellas and chairs" as the restaurants that participate will overcharge.

Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey

5 out of 5
The ruins in Ephesus are really quite extensive and amazing to see, even after visiting the Acropolis in Athens!

Istanbul, Turkey

Must see the Palace, Spice Bazaar and Hagia Sophia. Beware of carpet/scarf salesmen, although they were pushy, they were also very nice at the same time.

Thanks for posting your first review on this Website.  I enjoyed reading all about your wonderful cruise.  I have visited many of the same ports.  You had a great itinerary.
