Review summary

The ports are the star of this cruise. The Ship was ok, the staff were good. Some of the food was a little weird, but the Gelato was very good. The places you get to see are great. For many you don't need ships excursions which are very pricey, you can use local transport and guides to see what you want.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
After we dropped the bags we got checked in right away, but then they made us wait in chairs for like 10 minutes before we could board. At least there was free wifi.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Many of the dishes were spot on and awesome. Some menu items were not as described when they arrived. One called bubble and squeak was topped with a poached egg. That was not mentioned on the menu. The dish itself was good, the egg part was weird. Also the desserts in the main dining room we boring, lots of mousse. Hardly any pies. 3-4 nights I just skipped dessert and went to the Gelato place for banana split or sundae.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
There were no indoor pools. The air temperature did not allow for swimming in the outdoor pool. But hot tubs were nice and there is an adults only area. The cruise director talked too much. After shows she would speak for 5 minutes, loud speaker announcements were 7+ minutes. Nothing critical was being relayed. All were things we could see in the patter or on the app.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Magician was great. The shows were over crowded we only saw 1 or 2 and it was technically executed with skill, but the material left alot to be desired. The Dancers are very talented, so were the singers on stage in the theater, but the materials were a bit disjointed. Some of the bands in the Piazza were good, others had terrible vocal set up so the voices were muffled.

Children's Programs

No kids in my party

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Concerto and Allegro service was great. Symphony dining room had major issues, would avoid at this time. Even the head waiters were non responsive.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Well maintained, but needs an indoor pool.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Plenty of storage space and the beds were the best. Very soft and comfortable.

Ship tip

IF you don't like your dinner service, change dining rooms. We had poor service the first 3 nights and then moved to an awesome crew in a different dining room.

Great jump off point, saw Stonehenge along the way on a private tour.

Portland (Weymouth), England, UK

Weymouth was a beautiful town. Well worth the trip to see the beach and the beautiful seaside town.

Cobh (Cork), Ireland

Did the Blarney castle ship excursion. Did not have enough time to kiss the stone, recommend doing this on your own so you have more time on the site.

Dun Laoghaire (Dublin), Ireland

4 out of 5
Great city to visit, we did our own train and hoho bus tour.

Greenock (Glasgow), Scotland

5 out of 5
Lots to see we hired a car for the day for like $200 to take us wherever we wanted.

Kirkwall, Orkney Islands, Scotland

Great little town, easy walk from the bus stop. Just explored on our own.

Invergordon (Inverness & Loch Ness), Scotland

Did Princess excursion to Lock Ness. Highly recommend it.

South Queensferry (Edinburgh), Scotland

5 out of 5
We took a bus to the city and then the hoho bus. Pre booked tea at Edinburgh castle, highly recommend.

Le Havre (Paris), France

We did the bee bus to Han Flouer. It was a nice day out. next time would try to do our own train to Paris, but because of the Olympics we avoided it.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Fairly easy to roll off, we were released at 715am
