Review summary

We had a fantastic cruise! Laughed a lot. The cruise director & her staff were really good!

Embarkation

Good! Easy!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We had breakfast & lunch in the buffet & dinner in the main dining room. Food was excellent. We were able to get the same waiters we had in January, so that made it extra special!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We mostly relaxed during the day. Went to the fitness center a few times, but the layout is cramped.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
All the guest performers were really good. I would say this production group was some of the best we have seen as far as overall talent by each performer. We love going to the game shows every night. Princess does a good job with their scheduling of activities in the evening. There were 6 of us traveling in a group & we laughed so much.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our waiters were fabulous! That is why we requested them again. I think our room steward was new(er), but he still did a good job.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I think they do a good job maintaining the ship. There were a lot of small children that made a lot of messes, but they were cleaned up quickly. The buffet is divided up into three sections, which I think is a bad design, however, knowing that, we made it work.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had an obstructed balcony, but the only obstruction was that it didn’t have glass across the balcony, it was solid. However it was twice the size as a regular balcony. Room was clean & comfortable. PLEASE NOTE: We were informed by our room steward that we are no longer allowed to decorate our cabin doors, because it is a fire hazard. 🤔 Since we were just on this ship 6 weeks ago & decorated the door then, I called the front desk to check. She said that was true, but they just started to enforce it. HOWEVER, you may purchase Princess approved decorations from Princess! So my magnets are a hazard, but their magnets aren’t!?!? I am sorry, but this is a whole new LOW for making money on the cruise ship! AND if you did put something out (my friend did before she knew it was against the rules), they would just take it without any explanation. She did demand it back & she was able to get it. BUT YET, their were kids running around the buffet without shoes, people in their swimming attire with no coverup (no one wants to see that when you are eating!) in the buffet lines. And absolutely NO dress code in the dining room. I don’t mind the casual look, but don’t come to dinner in workout clothes. Enough ranting! 😂

Ship tip

Go with the flow. Don’t let the small things bother you (I should take my own advice 🤣). Enjoy being on the ship & that fantastic ocean air!

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We did our own thing. There were 6 ships at Cozumel, but they can handle it.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

2 out of 5
First, we went on an excursion with Viator snorkeling. It was good! Got to see a turtle. There wasn’t a lot of fish & the water wasn’t real clear, but the guide & boat driver were wonderful. The 1 star is because there were FOUR ships there at the same time! Two were mega ships & 2 were 3,300 passengers. When we came back from our excursion, we had to go through the port. I have NEVER seen that many people there ever! You could barely walk there were so many people, let alone try to shop. So maybe it wasn’t fair to give Costa Maya two stars, but having that many people made it really bad.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
Princess has a very nice port here, however Carnival beat us there & the beach was swamped with people. We usually book our own excursion here, but really didn’t have enough time this trip.

Galveston, Texas

5 out of 5
It’s Texas! What more can I say!?! 😜

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Disembarking was slower this time. They had us wind around more than last time, not sure why, but still pretty quick.
