Review summary

We love cruising! It is total relaxation as soon as you get on the ship & leave all your worries behind you.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We had ordered our Medallions, but thanks to the Houston mail problems, they did not get to us (until after the cruise!). First time this has ever happen. We were still able to walk right through, get our Medallions & walk straight onto the ship! And it was still early. They did a great job!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
I would have given 4 1/2 stars if it was an option. MDR was excellent! The buffet is divided up into 3 sections: the same food they serve every day, desserts & then some variety. Your food gets cold going from one to another, but that is a design problem, not the cook’s fault. Food was still good!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
They do a pretty good job! We love that the timing of the events in the evening works with what we like. We eat, go to the show, then to a game show. Or you can eat, go to the game show & then the main production. Plenty to do during the day, depending on what you like to do. Fitness center is a little cramped, but again, that is a design flaw.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
There were 3 comedians on a 7 day cruise! All of them were pretty good. Good job on entertainment!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We probably had the best room steward we have ever had (at least that we can remember after 40 cruises 😆). There were a few issues with the room & he got them fixed immediately! We only saw him occasionally passing him in the hallway. Our MDR waiter & assistant waiter was also excellent! No complaints!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The overall appearance of the ship was good. The ladies restrooms towards the front of the ship, near the buffet, were all (3) broken the whole cruise. Hopefully that will be fixed when we go again in March.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This was an obstructed balcony, but the only obstruction was the deck below, no life boats blocked our view. It was a great room. Great location from the stairs, but not too close to hear any noise. I tried to get the same room for the next cruise, but was unable to do so. So sorry I forgot to take pictures!

Ports of call

Belize City, Belize

Used Viator to go tubing through the caves. Wonderful excursion!

Disembarkation

I am surprised that Galveston hasn’t gotten the facial recognition for the passports or maybe it was just this terminal. No problems here either!

Great review from some veteran cruisers! Thank you and you were spot on with everything. My strategy for keeping food warm in buffet is to walk around first and decide what I want then quickly go back to get those items, then quickly sit and eat. People walk around for ten minutes while carrying their food. No matter how hot it was when you started, it can’t stay hot forever. Agreed Princess is developing a problem not fixing things fast enough.
