Review summary

With exception of disappointing Princess excursions, the cruise was delightful and the scenery just beautiful. The Regal is a very nice ship with great staff onboard. Elevators are a challenge especially with wheelchair or mobility scooter but we managed.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The Princess Medallion made embarkation fast and easy

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food overall was pretty good but vegan or vegetarian options were somewhat limited.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Fitness center was surprisingly inadequate. Machines too close together, outdated. Some out of order. Only two lifting benches and a drinking fountain instead of water dispenser.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The entertainment was wonderful. Loved the shows as well as the bands and string groups on the ship.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Very attentive and friendly staff

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
They were constantly cleaning and encouraging hand washing.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Ship cabins are small but this felt comfortable. The couch was great for in room meals and as a place to sit other than the bed. A lot of storage space in closet which also has little shelves and a safe.

Beautiful.

Boston, Massachusetts

We had an excursion through Princess. A bus ride to see landmarks in the city. It would have been nice but they changed routes and took us in circles around same area due to a women’s walk run. Only one 10 minute stop. Not worth what we paid.

Bar Harbor, Maine

The most beautiful stop. We loved Acadia National Park. Unfortunately we did another Princess excursion. Create Your Day at Acadia. It was supposed to be stops in the park where you could stay as long as you want at a stop and then catch one of the shuttles to next stop. Well, on our day the driver stopped at the visitor center which has restrooms, gift shop, information and trails behind it. He gave us 20 minutes. It was crowded therefore we didn’t get to do anything here. At next stop, he informed us that this was the only bus and that he wouldn’t be back to get us for two hours. We saw what we could and then waited for over an hour and half more at the bus stop. No one in our group wanted to get off the next stop and wait another two hours so we stayed on and headed back to the ship. Very disappointed and not likely to do their excursions again if I do Princess again.

Glad that you had a pleasant cruise experience. The Regal is our favorite Princess ship. We've been on it several times and had a great experience. We haven't done the itinerary that you have, but your review will help us make a decision. Thanks for sharing!
