Review summary

Overall a pleasant vacation. The ship was very comfortable, clean, nicely designed. The staff was above reproach, pleasant, helpful and friendly. A worthwhile getaway to break up the humdrum day to day chores facing us all.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Extremely fast and easy

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We were fortunate enough to be categorized as Club Class and as such were entitled to dine in a special area of the Dining Room for dinner. It was very nice and the staff was absolutely wonderful. The buffet was well stocked and very good with ample seating and very good food.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
As senior citizens we were not able to participate and the weather did not allow use of the pool.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows were Broadway class and were excellent. The staging and the performers were the best I've ever seen on a cruise ship. I cannot say enough!

Children's Programs

No children!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Absolutely over the top. A smile on every face. Very, very pleasant attention. As if they want to do anything to help you have a wonderful cruise. Extremely polite and welcoming.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Extremely clean throughout. The only downside, and I'm sure is found on every cruise, is the wait for an elevator and that may be due to the passengers ineptitude.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Again, over the top. As a handicap mini-suite the stateroom was in a very convenient location and was kept in immaculate condition.

Ports of call

New York, New York Did not visit port

We reside in the area.

Newport, Rhode Island Did not visit port

We have visited Newport several times in the past.

Boston, Massachusetts

4 out of 5
We hired a private tour guide and saw things we had not seen on prior visits.

Bar Harbor, Maine Did not visit port

We had purchased a Whale watching excursion which was canceled due to weather.

Saint John, New Brunswick

3 out of 5
We bought a trolley excursion which turned out to be a nice tour of Saint John and Bay of Fundy which was interesting but not terribly exciting.

Halifax, Nova Scotia Did not visit port

Did some shopping at the pier.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Mostly a little tedious.
