Review summary

Have never complained about cruise ship food, so this is a first. The specialty restaurants were very good and Alfredo's pizza was excellent including the service. But the main dining room food was sub-par at best. Will stick to R.C.C.L. or Carnival. Never a problem with those lines. On a cruise food is an important item and Princess did disappoint. The 4.2 rating is deceiving and if not for the food it would have been higher.

Food and Dining

Very good specialty restaurants. The main dining room was very much hit and miss. Cold food was a major concern and the meat served was not chewable.

Symphony Dining Room

Stay with the specialty restaurants or Alfredo's.

Crown Grill

Great food and service.

Alfredo's Pizzeria

Lunch twice and dinner on the last night. If you like thin crust pizza this one is for you

Never had an issue in MDR on any Princess ship. Food was always excellent along with the service. Will say at times is was a little slow, but food always arrived hot and flavorful.

Just like a restaurant, never base it on your first visit.

It's not the cruise line. It's the chef on that ship. We've been on 9 cruises, with different cruise lines and loved the MDR food on all.
