Review summary

Princess provides everything for both a family and or couples cruise a positive experience. The cruise staff ( Lexi -cruise director, Rachel, and Aaron) were such a great team who made us felt at home and why we keep sailing and being loyal to Princess.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
On our departure from Port Everglades Florida Princess treats its Platinum and Elite loyalty members with a nice lounge with complimentary snacks, tea, and coffee and by passing what can sometimes be long waits. We were no more than 30 min all in to board Regal Princess. Have to love the older gentlemen with the New York accent who oversees the guests in the loyalty area sharing his funny stories and overall great humour. What a great person for this area where sometimes passengers can be snarky to get on board. Great work Princess

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
On Grand class ships in the Princess fleet ( Majestic, Regal, and Royal and one day soon Sky) the well appointed seating and dining areas make it for a wonderful experience. Topped off with a vast variety of food for any palette including fussy eaters and vegetarian options. These ships have it all. Tried Sabatinis on this cruise and while very rich in design and inviting the food options were somewhat limited for our taste. Overall the dining rooms and buffet offer fantastic food and staff who are so willing to please and support guests.

Crooner's Bar

4 out of 5

The casual but upscale appointed furnishing and overall design made it a favourite to listen to casual musicians. Crooners is much larger than standard ships in the princess fleet which we liked a lot. Great place to share a drink or three! Many many choices of martinis you would love to try. Good service staff but One thing that lack was again small banter with guests was not evident. We were on The Crown Princess and while short staffed the waiters were very engaged with all guests and the bar was full every evening regardless what was happening elsewhere.

Bellini Bar

3 out of 5

In general the bars were great however they lacked the personality of staff that made you want to go back again and again. Nicely located off the piazza on deck 6. Great place to enjoy some catch up time with friends and friendly. We just found that the staff lacked that interaction opportunity with guests. They were attentive but no light discussion to give the bar a welcomed touch. Seemed to lack champagne options other than a small sample. Something that could be added.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We absolutely had 5 star service in the retreat pool and sanctuary. The pool area, and staff made it such a pleasure and a highlight of our vacation. Special thanks to Galberto A who truly exceeded expectations for all guests.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Stage shows were okay as were the musicians in overall. The rating could be a 4 if the DJ on board actually understood the vibe of the people he is there to play for. The DJ only wanted to play what he liked. If you requested something that he didn’t like he wouldn’t play. ( this was other guests comments that we felt the same way) and would only play a request when he (DJ Shea) was actually forced to by the cruise director. And the best part... the dance floor suddenly became packed 😀 As for other entertainment it would have been great had they had more comedians and or hypnotists and magic acts. The Beatlemaniacs were a very popular act including one deck party. Would have been nice to have had an island themed deck party.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
We rcvd great service from waiters around pools on deck and so so from others. The key to a positive service experience is to interact with guests and make them feel welcomed and provide that we care experience. I can say this as I manage in a service environment and it is critical that staff are on board about the hospitality and the added touch to have guests return and know they are appreciated. The room steward we had (Efrem) was beyond amazing and also thinking about the guests. He knew all of his guests first names which is that extra touch. Love be that type of service experience as it made us feel valued and welcomed.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Well designed from top to bottom. Ample space in rooms, common areas and venues. Cannot way enough of the space. The quality is evident in every way. Well done Princess.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
A great size and perfect size for 2 people. Felt right at home. Always clean and impeccable. Good size and never felt claustrophobic.
