Overall our cruise was very enjoyable, the staff was friendly and courteous. Our only issue has been mentioned in the comments about the lack of slippers, quality toweling and the stop in Nynashamn.
Embarkation

Our embarkation experience was seamless.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Main dining room was excellent and we experienced top notch service from all staff. We were a group of eight but maitre d' made sure each evening that we were well taken care of with a very nice table.
Onboard Activities

Outside areas are attractive with nice ocean viewing areas.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We had a few great nights in the main area where there was music each night. Near the end of the cruise they had a opera singer who was great fun which made for a great evening.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Our service level overall was outstanding. Dining room, bar staff and our steward Armando was excellent.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship is laid out very well. I found it easy to get to the common areas, bar and dining areas.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Our cabin was well laid out with a nice deck in the stern of the ship. I want to first mention that our Steward, Armando was outstanding and we could not ask for more. Are comment/complaint/observation would be that Princess slippers and high quality towels were not provided as in our past cruise on the same line. Armando was kind enough to send a officer to our room to explain the situation. This is where I believe Princess Cruises is making cost cuts that undermine their credibility as a luxury cruise provider. It is those very small conveniences that to me are a must and would make be rethink being loyal customer to the Princess brand.
Great city, we arrived early for the cruise to enjoy the area, it turned out to be a marvelous experience both prior to the cruise for the an extra day at the end of the cruise.
We took the train into Rostock for a few hours. The weather was not conducive to wandering too much but we throoughly enjoyed the trip to the city in anycase. We came back to spend a few hours in Warnemunde which we enjoyed as well.
Excellent port, people and city were very friendly and old town sites were outstanding. The restaurants we acquainted were friendly and served very good food. We also used the Hop on Hop Off for a quick tour of the city.
This was a marvelous adventure. The city itself needs improvement but you can see that they are trying as best they can. We took a SPB 2 day deluxe tour for our group of 8 which provided a private coach. That I can certainly rate 5 star. We also included a night at the ballet to see Swan Lake for 4 of us (when in Russia a must). The service and the tour we received was marvelous and I cannot recommend SPB highly enough. The museums, palaces and church visits were awe inspiring as well as a must stop at the Vodka museum.
It poured rain for most of the day but we took transportation to the city centre and walked the city to at least see a few sights. We ended up looking like drowned rats but we found it a great little city and wished we could have seen the true Helsinki. The exit of the port was a wonderful sight.
This comment is about Nynashamn only and not Stockholm. We had to tender in this port which took 1 hour 40 minutes of waiting time before being called. We then took a train in Stockholm which we thoroughly enjoyed, great food, wonderful city with friendly people. The cruise was not in port long enough to get a real experience of Stockholm. We were instructed by Captain and crew to make sure we returned in plenty of time to be tendered to the ship as it was implied that the VERY LAST tender would be leaving at 6:00 pm only to find the crew going back late passengers. Nynashamn the town is certainly not ready to take on large cruise ships. I always prided myself on being friendly and outgoing to everyone but we found service and facilities lacking in the area and would not recommend the Stockholm stop unless Princess docked in the actual port of Stockholm Harbour itself.
We did not have any issues. The crew reminded us that it would take quite a while to get taxis etc. so we booked our transportation to CPH in advance which turned out to be the right move.
When was your last cruise on Princess where they provided slippers? I've only been cruising Princess for five years (20 on other lines) and haven't been provided slippers. Not sure if I want to use provided slippers even if I assume they have been washed. Often you can get better towels from the gym showers. You could take them to your room if it makes a difference to you. If those are the cuts that keep rates lowest in last 20 years then I'm OK with them.
