Review summary
This was a family reunion type trip and it was perfect for us to be together and to see all the beautiful fall colors. Mother Nature provided the beauty but she also provided some rough weather that prevented us from visiting St. John but our captain made a wise decision to not attempt to put his ship or passengers in jeopardy. To be truthful, we sincerely enjoyed the addition sea day to relax and kick back. It was much needed and truly enjoyed. We all were anxious for our "lobster fix" and managed to squeeze it in in Bar Harbor plus the chowder in Boston. Just can't get enough of the great fresh seafood.
We particularly enjoyed spending time in the Enclave. We like traveling on the ships that offer this amenity. It is so restful and relaxing. Just wish it were offered on more ships. The food selections were particularly good in the Horizon restaurants. The carving meats were specially delicious. We were disappointed not to have more opportunity for bread pudding and tapioca and other comfort foods we all love. Just had to fill in with more ice cream. In spite of all the goodies, it really is possible to eat hearty and still not gain too much weight. You just have to pick carefully. All in all a good cruise and an outstanding Captain.
