Review summary

I enjoyed the cruise very much. I think Princess needs to improve the excursions and get better and more informative tour guides. I did not like the fact the captain had poor judgment in weather and leaving the Port of Bar Harbor Maine 2 hours earlier because he predicted wrong weather then apologizing for his poor judgement. Then getting to the next port St. John's, Bay of Fundy in the middle of the night and not stopping claiming the weather was bad due to winds. I felt cheated for missing this port!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The buffet is good. The grill burgers are good too. Pizza is not good. However reserved diner at Allegro Restaurant is better. With my package I had a free dinner included at their Concerto Restaurant which was excellent!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
I felt the ship was like an interior at one of the casino's in Atlantic City, NJ

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The live entertentainment was not advertised well on the ship via TV access or outside theater area or other decks. Limited space in theater to watch live shows.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service was very good. However, during breakfast time at buffet it is crowded and service is not that efficient

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship is great! However, numerous times the women's bathroom were clogged.

Cabin / Stateroom

I loved my cabin. It had a balcony with great views. The room was spacious. The toilet was flooded during the stay and had to call maintenance and it was fixed within an hour

Ship tip

It's a luxury ship, can get a bit crowded, activities/excursions are well organized, a bit pricey but overall good experience

Ports of call

New York, New York

The ship was docked at Red Hook Brooklyn Pier, so I had great view of Manhattan from my balcony and also rear of ship. Loved it!

Newport, Rhode Island

Was fortunate to have good weather. We did 2 excursions. It's a beautiful place to visit with lots of Mansions. The Princess cruise excursions could do much better with more informative tour guides. We had very limited time (Newport Cliff Walk & The Breakers). The second excursion was much better and more informative and I highly recommend it: Rose Island Lighthouse & Harbor Cruise***

Boston, Massachusetts

5 out of 5
Was fortumate again to have good weather. I enjoyed the rich history of Boston. We did 2 excursions. The first one was awful as the tourguide had an attitude and very rushed (I do not recommend this tour: Historic Boston & Cambridge Scenic Drive). The second tour was wonderful and informative, highly recommedn it: Boston Highlights Scenic Drive & Harbor Cruise***
