Review summary

An extensive itinerary from the Baltic Sea to Northern Europe, Regal Princess made this cruise special.  Food and dining room service was better than previous cruises with Princess.  Ship is beautiful, new, and offers some very unique features, like the sky walk.  Production shows in the theater were super.

I was not pleased with the cabin maintenance.  Room steward was not thorough in cleaning bathroom and odors lingered from mildew shower curtain to unclean toilet.  The bed was particularly uncomfortable until I asked steward to change mattress. He sail we had a "pillow top", but in fact, it did not.  The mattress was changed and that center bar that stood above the mattress to make our double bed was removed.  After the adjustments were made the bed was a bit more comfortable.  I regret that I did not say something about it sooner in the cruise.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Dinner in the dining room was better than we have had on other Princess Cruises. The Horizon buffet has been improved in size and layout but still needs to improve on food presentation, particularly breakfast.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Other than evening entertainment, day activities were repetitions and boring. Sport offerings were few and available equipment substandard (golf) or not enough (pickleball). Bocce, a favorite activity of ours, was offered a few times but in a very, very poor manner. It took place on the putting golf course in a tiny area with plastic balls. NOT GOOD!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Theater production shows were wonderful, ventriloquist, comedians, jugglers, not so good.

Children's Programs

not used

Service and Staff

Well trained and congenial wait staff in the Symphony dining room made each dinner a wonderful experience.

Cabin / Stateroom

Improve mattress and train room steward in cleanliness expectations. The small sofa was awful to sit upon. The seat cushions sat at an angle and slid out when sat upon, ending up on the floor a few times.

Ship tip

If you do not like something about room, dining experience, or service, let passenger services know immediately. They really do want your cruise experience to go well.
