Review summary
This was our second cruise with Princess Cruises - we sailed on the Royal Princess in 2014. The Regal Princess was a fantastic ship. Our room was L210, a mini-suite. It was spacious and well-appointed with a nice balcony. We especially liked the sitting area with a second flat-sreen TV. The service by our steward was great. There are so many places to sit and enjoy entertainment on this ship. The evening shows in the Princess Theatre were of a quality not usually found on a ship, very good shows. The food and service in our dining room(Concerto) were very good. Our waiters, Ronald and Russell were exceptional. Now, for the specialty restaurants - outstanding. We ate one evening in Sabatini's. The fried calamari was the best I have ever had, same with the manicotti. The Crown Grill was also exceptional. There is an appetizer there that was one of the best things I have ever tasted. It was a shrimp and papaya mix in a sauce with grilled shrimp on top. The filet and lobster were perfect. My wife had the ribeye steak and loved it. The specialty restaurants cost $25 per person, but is a bargain for the food, service and ambiance. We loved the Movies Under the Stars and the Lido deck pizzeria. Both sailings with Princess, our stateroom has been on the Lido deck and we like that as it is so close to many of the activities and food. We have sailed on 4 other cruise lines and find Princess to be our favorite.
