Review summary
We have cruised with Princess in the past and we were very happy with the cruise line. Not this Time. We flew from Buffalo New York to JFK. When we got to JFK, we were greeted by the Princess Rep. We paid extra for the trip from the airport to the cruise terminal. When we got to the Brooklyn cruise terminal and went to get our luggage from under the bus, Our wheel chair that we brought with us was not there. Princesses employees and the bus driver didn,t load our wheel chair onboard the bus as we told them that two suitcases and the wheel chair we rented had to be loaded on the bus. After several phone calls on our own cell phone to Princess at a cost of $32.00 they found our wheel chair at the airport and assured us that it would be onboard the ship before we departed New York city . When we arrived at the cruise terminal and told the rep what had just happened, they told us to have a seat and they would get a wheel chair for my wife so we could board the ship. We waited for 45 minutes before we got on ship. I had asked passenger services when we boarded to have our ship board account in cdn dollars. The water fantasy light show onboard was every other night. Three times we waited on the deck in cool weather waiting for the show to start. Three times the show was cancelled because of technical difficulties. The ship was 16 months old and cost $760 million dollars to build, and princess had no tech to fix this problem? They said ok, but when we got our final bill it was in U.S. dollars. My wife has issues walking distances , that is why we brought our own wheel chair. The food was ok, but We found language barriers with several of the ships employees. The trip was a disappointment to us. When we got home from the trip, I contacted Princess and told them what had happened to us. They offered us $250.00 O.B.C for our next cruise as long as we cruised before October 2016. Oh by the way , this was our anniversary cruise. I now have doubts if we will ever cruise with Princess again . By the way we paid 25% exchange rate on our cruise, and when we got home a flyer for another cruise line offered Canadians a exchange rate of 5% only. Guess which new cruise line we may be dealing with in the future
