Ports of Call Wonderful

Sail Date: June 09, 2014

Traveled As: Large Group

Room Type: Balcony

Overall a wonderful cruise,. allowing us to see countries we would not necessarily get to visit. Excursions very, very pricey and wish we had better guidance on the excursions. For example, excursion to Rome over $500 for 2. Most of the trip we had to pay Euros but in Turkey we wish some one had advised us that the US dollar was worth much more than Turkish money. Food was good and the atmoshper on-board good. Found the entertainment to be above average and entertaining. Being on a new ship was a nice change, however, the balcony staterooms appeared to have smaller balconies and the air condition was not very good at all. Princess, as with other cruise lines, seem to nickel and dime passenger's to death and considering the cost of a cruise there should be less of that. Very little on-board activities that did not cost an arm and a leg.  Found the stateroom staff excellent, always keeping the room clean and fresh. A plus for Princess is the importance of good hygene with hand sanitizers located throughout the ship.

Ship Quality
Stateroom A/C needs improvement, rooms got rather warm in the evening
Food and Dining
Cafeteria good choices and the anytime dinning staff good. The specialty dining at the Sabatani Restaurant not worth the additional cover charget
Cabin / Stateroom
Service and Staff
Entertainment
Children's Programs N/A
Onboard Activities
Not very creative or in variety
Destinations and Excursions
Good excursions but very pricey on this cruise. Be prepared to be up early and back late
Barcelona, Spain
Best entry port we have experience. Fast processing and baggage in stateroom before we arrived in it
Toulon, France
Never got a chance to see Toulon. Took an excursion to Provence but would have rather stayed in port and seen Toulon.
Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy
Expensive and long roundtrip bus ride but worth every penny
Naples, Italy
Expensive and long roundtrip bus ride but worth every penny. Pompeii a must see
Santorini, Greece
Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey
Ephesus a great excursion.
Mykonos, Greece
