A great first cruise experience! by NeilN

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The Radiance of the Seas is a beautiful cruise ship staffed by incredibly friendly crew members. There are many good spots throughout the ship to relax, take in the view, or just people watch. Throughout the week we were entertained by a variety of activities and interesting ports. The food onboard was not what I expected. My wife and I were a little disappointed by the repetition of food choice and lack of quality. However, the cruise overall was very good.

Fun cruise by AS455697236

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Overall the ship was nice; however, the elevators were incredibly small and slow to come. Incredibly frustrating to finally catch an elevator and find that someone only wants to go up/down one floor. There should be a two floor minimum. Forty-five minutes to an hour standing in line to get off the boat. RC needs to do a better job to speed up the process. Cruise director was average. Service was great.

Our Cruise by NatalieT2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was very pretty. Lots of glass windows and great views. The indoor pool solarium was gorgeous and very relaxing. The outdoor pool was very pleasing with the waterfalls. However I was disappointed that our balcony view was obstructed and we were not informed of that. Many of the balconies on Deck 7 are recessed slightly and you don't get a straight down view of the water. It is obstructed by the overhang underneath. The food also was not good at all but we had special kosher meals.

i would prefer holland amer or celebrity by StacyA4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

ship was hard to navigate interior. there were no straight throughways from stem to stern. service of personnel was good. the quality of food, even in the restaurants that required extra $$$, was quite poor. there was no midnite buffet and the restaurant outlets were limited. the art auction was fabulous only because of the personnel (tony and ati) who made my very lst experience w/auctions a lasting interest. (i bid and bought over $3K worth of artwork)

The ship was beautiful and, according to many of the passengers that I spoke to, it is one of the best ships in the fleet.

A vacation bargain by JamesR16

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

For a ship that has been in service five years, the age doesn't show. Maintenance has been well done, and consistent. The entire crew, from the captain down, seems genuinely interested in making sure passengers enjoy every aspect of the voyage.

BEST CRUISE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!! by MichelleS3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship is beautiful with lots of glass and great views from everywhere. The ports were beautiful and easy to get around in. The ships crew were very helpful and attentive and you could tell they love their jobs and the ship. The Captain (Rune Lokling) was so visable throughout the whole trip and he would take time to stop and chat and kid around with you. His mid day reports were hysterical and he left the whole ship saying "Hertie Gertie" and Kiss kiss kiss. I can't wait to go back.

Radiance Is Radiant !!!!!!! by VickyL

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

It was elegant, it was spotless, Windjammer had an incredible menu everyday, so much so that we did not eat one meal in the dining room. We loved the flexibility of eating when we chose, without having a specific time. The staff was absolutely incredible. The service impeccable. Chops restaurant was wonderful, we had dinner there on our anniversary. Again, the Captain was the best ever. Except for the lack of a seperate shower in our bathroom, this was by far the best cruise we have ever taken.

A little somthing for everyone! by JackH8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

From the moment we arrived at the Port we knew this one would be different - but in a good way! The Set Sail Pass (for boarding which you get by doing a lot of stuff online before you arrive) made a huge difference! From drop off to getting on the boat - 15 minutes! Our stateroom was an inside cabin, but very spacious with a great layout. The Windjammer Cafe has great lunch items and a couple good dinner items. Room Service was quick and had good food.

This was our second cruise on this ship which we really like very much. We look forward to being on the Brillance, a sister ship, in the Mediterranean next year.

Alaska by sea by StefanieC1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The Radiance of the Seas is an impressive ship. It has a spectacular atrium, with glass elevators overlooking the lobby below. The outside glass elevators give an amazing view of the ocean. All of the facilities are clean and in excellent shape -- I believe this is a fairly new ship, and it really shows. The staff was attentive and excellent (as expected), the cabin had enough room for a family of four, including storage space for our many clothes and bags. We especially loved having a balcony -- a must for viewing the spectacular Alaska scenery and wildlife. The ship's many amenities made for plenty of recreation choices. This was really an impressive ship.
