Review summary

Overall, we had a very nice time. It was hard because we started out serving ourselves at the buffet but due to a Norovirus that was spreading, by the end of the cruise the staff was serving us (main problem being it caused lines to form). However, it's understandable that they needed to protect everyone as much as possible so I get it. Staff was very friendly about it all, even though it caused all of them a lot of extra work too!

Embarkation

Very smooth embarkation experience. Lots of employees guiding the way!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food and service was great overall!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
There were times events were shown on the itinerary and no one from the ship arrived to conduct them. That was disappointing....

Entertainment

4 out of 5
I would rate the RC entertainers as okay. Most of the rest of the performers were very good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We were at Table 218. Our waiter (Federico) and assistant waiter (Rowela) were EXCELLENT! They were super friendly and very attentive to our needs!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We liked the size of the ship being smaller....all common areas were clean & well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

Very nice and clean. Excellent cabin steward as well.

Ports of call

Tampa, Florida Did not visit port

Cartagena, Colombia

We did not do an excursion, we just visited the FREE zoo - which was within walking distance of the ship and it was awesome!!

Colon, Panama

4 out of 5
We did not do an excursion, we got off of the ship and walked around a few shops. Not a whole lot there to get excited about.

Panama Canal Transit

5 out of 5
This was awesome - just a trip through the canal. It took longer than usual (according to the captain) because the water levels were low. It was cool though because we went through the last canal in the dark!

Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala

We did not do an excursion here. We debated getting off of the ship but when we saw the first group of shuttles come back within 1/2 hour, we decided to interview a few of the people who were on them....they said not to bother because the larger ship got the better port and all of our shuttles just took them over to the other ship and shops then they had to go through customs and it was a whole thing just to get back to our ship. Some very unhappy cruisers - so we decided to just stay on the ship.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

We did an excursion that took us snorkeling and then to a beach (I don't remember the name of it & can't seem to locate it)....anyhow the snorkeling was very disappointing because #1 the water was freezing even with a wetsuit and #2 we are used to the Caribbean, which has very clear warm water and lots of colorful fish. We didn't see all that many fish! However, the beach was FANTASTIC and the crew on the boat was FANTASTIC!! So, overall we had a great time and it's nobody's fault the snorkeling stinks in the Pacific!

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California Did not visit port

Airport Only.

Disembarkation

It was a bit slow and behind getting off of the ship but I would guess that's because most of the passengers were elderly.
