Review summary

It was the Alaskan Adventure we had hoped for. We were active, and not just lounging around. We enjoyed the activities at each port. We booked through Shore Excursion Group. We had great activities and wonderful, knowledgable, local guides. We had rain every day, with 93% humidity, 43-49 F degrees. That made it hard to enjoy the pool and outdoor ship activities.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We took the ACT bus from Anchorage to Seward and got right on the ship without delays or problems.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We loved our dining room experience for dinner. The Windjammer buffet is pretty good too. What you expect from a buffet serving lots of international guests. We do wish the soda was more accessible and not so expensive.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The weather made it hard to do any of the outside activities. Had we had sunny, warm weather, the outdoor activities would have been fun.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The main evening musicians played the same music every night. They were okay, but not excellent. The Buenos Aries Argentine Tango dancers were great.

Children's Programs

Did not have children under 21 with us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was friendly and remembered our names and faces.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship is clean and well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Our mattresses on the king bed had wells in them. Suggest replacing them. We had 4 adults in this cabin. one adult slept on the pull out futon chair. I would recommend 4 adults getting a larger cabin or 2 cabins.

Ship tip

We had a lot of turbulence on our first cruising day to Hubbard glacier. Be prepared for a little more rocking than other cruises.

We disembarked in British Columbia and flew home from there. The taxi terminal is the most organized terminal I have ever used!! We literally got of the ship and into our taxi to the airport. This terminal is very efficient and very well designed.
