Review summary

As a first cruise, this was amazing. The Radiance is a charming ship and the staff were incredible.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Very quick and easy despite being sent to the wrong floor of the terminal to begin with.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Faultless. Everything was amazing.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
What we did experience was great. I was disappointed that we couldn't participate in as much as we would have liked as we had small kidlets. Some activities such as bingo and trivia were really packed out so you had to get in early.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Loved what we did see.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Our 5 year old loved the kids club. It was the first time we had left our 20 month old in the care of others but the staff were fantastic and very accommodating.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Cannot fault. Always so friendly and helpful. Always had time to stop for a chat. Loved our room steward, Denmark.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
A beautiful and charming ship. Staff maintained the cleanliness throughout the day.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had a spacious ocean view balcony cabin. Was ideal size for us.

Ship tip

Expect to wait around for the lifts so if you can, utelize the stairs.

Ports of call

Port Vila, Efate, Vanuatu

5 out of 5
We had an independent tour booked through Bountiful Tours and we loved it. Highly recommend. We visited duty free, chocolate factory, cultural village, Turtle Bay Sanctuary and the Blue lagoon. What an experience.

Noumea, New Caledonia

3 out of 5
We did a hop on hop off bus through Royal Caribbean. The best stop was the aquarium by far. It was also a public holiday in Noumea so some places were not open. Found Noumea to be very expensive. Take it or leave it.

Isle Of Pines (Ile Des Pins), New Caledonia

5 out of 5
This was definitely a favourite of ours. No tour booked we just did our own thing. The water is unlike anything I've ever seen.

Mare Isle, Loyalty Islands, New Caledonia

2 out of 5
Not much to see unless you get a charter from the port but at $25/person, we decided not to go. Headed back to the ship after 30 mins.

Sydney, Australia

4 out of 5
Stayed overnight at the Holiday Inn Old Sydney which was extremely close to the cruising terminal. We didn't really see much of Sydney but it was still an experience.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Once again, it was reasonably quick and easy. A little bit of congestion in the baggage claim area but the staff directed us really well.
