Review summary

Overall, the ship was great. We loved our room. The solarium is beautiful. The crew and waitstaff were all great. Enjoyed the entertainment very much. Loved Cozumel, didn't like Costa Maya. There were some fun activities that we participated in. I would recommend this ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
I thought the food was good, but not excellent. The meal choices could have been better. We did anytime dining, and then discovered that we needed reservations, which kind of cancels out the whole "any time" convenience. The room was beautiful and the waitstaff was great.

My son was in the 12 to 14 age group, and didn't like the activities that were available to him in that group. He did have fun when he was with us, however.

Ports of call

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

1 out of 5
I don't think the cruise ships should stop at this port. It really seems to be a lawless area; there were soldiers with machine guns walking around, and we didn't feel safe. It was an outpost, lots of rubble and the port is controlled by this one particular company who basically forces you to use their transportation and tour companies. We were very happy to get back on the ship. Also, it is listed as a malaria zone.

Cozumel, Mexico

We did the Dolphinaris dolphin encounter. We really enjoyed it and it was very organized. We also went to Playa Mia beach which was a lot of fun. It's a beautiful port.
Don't Miss: dolphin swim

Pros: Stopping at Cozumel and swimming with the Dolphins

Cons: Stopping in Costa Maya
